Benzema is the perfect foil for Bale and Ronaldo, unselfish, happy to drop deep to receive or make space, not sure who Madrid could find who could do that role any better.

Carlo might want to change it though.

Freddy Adu has joined Norwegian club Stabæk on trial. They're currently coached by former US national team coach Bob Bradley, father of Michael Bradley.

Blimey, when he left as the US coach his reputation was really high and people were linking him with some decent jobs.. Stabæk !?

Nothing to do with Carlo .. it's a vicious cycle of fan appeasement, the next "galactico" made worse if Barca makes a big buy

Dinamo Moscow have confirmed that a deal to sign full-back Alexander Buttner from Manchester United has been agreed.

The 25-year-old only moved to Old Trafford from Dutch side Vitesse in 2012, but as understudy to Patrice Evra he was limited to just 13 Premier League games over the course of two seasons in England.

With Evra having signed a new one-year deal and Southampton left-back Luke Shaw also on United’s radar this summer, first-team opportunities for the new season appeared to be slim once again for Buttner.

A three-year contract has been agreed to make the switch to the Russian capital and the deal will be finalised once technical details have been ironed out.

Buttner told Dinamo’s official website: "I want to play in the Champions League and win trophies.

"Dinamo have a very strong team and I believe we can fight for first place this season."

Real Sociedad have secured the services of Carlos Vela until 2018 after Arsenal opted not to take up their option to re-sign the Mexico striker, with the Gunners set to receive up to £12 million from the deal.

The 25-year-old Mexico international initially joined Sociedad on loan from Arsenal in 2011 before making the switch permanent in 2012, with the Gunners retaining the option to buy the player back.

Arsenal have now decided against bringing Vela back to London and have agreed a deal with the Spanish club understood to be worth up to £12million for Vela to become Sociedad's player exclusively.

A Real Socieded statement read: "Real Sociedad have reached an agreement with Arsenal for Carlos Vela to continue at the Txuri Urdin club.

"Real Sociedad have also reached an agreement with Carlos Vela to renew his contract for the next four seasons. The previous agreement finished in 2016. The Mexican striker has already signed his new contract."

We can cross Remy off of our list now then.

Is it snobbish to believe that Garay went to the wrong league?? Plenty of interest from the EPL and other leagues yet he goes to Russia

Some chancer I heard, never even played the game professionally.

How much was Garay? Looks like his chairman is backing him anyway.

£12m.........very good value but unfortunately the wrong league and environment for him imo. Could have gone to a top side in any of the main 5 leagues and done really well.
