One gettable player and your team

Papercut

Jermaine Jenas
You have £30m-£40m to spend on one player...

The player has to be 'gettable' and you need to justify why he is 'gettable'.

You need to fit him into an AVB system and explain why he would work...

Heskey

He's gettable as he's now 35 and after a nice long holiday in Australia he would probably want to come to the Premier League for one last shot at a top 10 finish.

He would fit into AVB's system as he isn't very good at scoring goals and our strikers recieve no service anyway - much cheaper option than Soldado.

Benteke. We don't create a great deal, he can do more on his own than Soldado can in terms of manufacturing his own chances. We could get him.

Make him the Drogba of our 'low-rent' Mourinho (first stint) Chelsea:

----------------------lloris(cech)
chiriches(ferreira)---dawson(terry)---kaboul(carvallho)---vert(gallas)
-------------------capoue(makalele)
------------sandro(essien)------paulinho(lampard)
---lamela(robben)------benteke(drogba)-------eriksen(duff)

AvB(Mourinho)

Or not...

We have great players at the club in every position. But Soldado on his own up front is not working.

We have 4 options.
Keep playing him and hope it works out eventually.
Play him in a 4-4-2.
F'ck him off and get a similar player.
F'ck him off and get a different type player.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has criticised striker Romelu Lukaku, 20, who reportedly requested a transfer hours after his decisive penalty miss in the Uefa Super Cup final against Bayern Munich in August. Lukaku is currently on loan at Everton.

I’m torn two ways. Either:

-----------------Soldado
Eriksen-----------------------Lamela

-----Capoue---Sandro--Paulinho

Coentrao--Verts--Dawson--Walker

-----------------Lloris

Or:

-----------------Soldado
---Pato-----------------------Lamela

-----Eriksen---Sandro--Paulinho

--Rose--Verts--Dawson--Walker

-----------------Lloris

And I’d say Coentrao or Pato are gettable because we nearly signed both of them at the end of the last window.

Either would work because: with Coentrao it would give us genuine width down the left - it's kind of what the 'wall of steel' CM is designed to enable. With Pato he would bring some real spark and creativity and fill the gap between Soldado and midfield; he'd also double as cover for Soldado for the central role.

Chelsea are rumoured to be after Coentrao now. Liverpool apparently interested in Bertrand.

I thought Mourinho was the guy who first froze him out at Madrid? Mind you, Mourinho doesn't seem to have much say about transfers at that place anyway.

Whoever is gettable that is the closest to Luka Modric in terms of ability and playing style. I have no idea who that is, but Baldini probably has an idea or two.

Where's the goals in that team? Most of the front 6 won't get beyond 5 in a season. The trio are all creative, but Ade's not a goal machine. In fact Ade works best with more direct wide players feeding off him (like Bale), rather than indirect players feeding him.
