OMT - Tottenham vs. Inter Milan

To be fair mate, in my case I just find it frustrating as a supporter. All good though...

this.. being a mod has fudge all to do with it.. a more accurate comparison is like being at a game and listening to some prick moan on and on about defoe shooting all the time when we're 9-1 up and he's scored five already.

some people are just never pleased and permanently bitter.. i have no issue with passion or debate, but i take issue with unreasonable and irrational criticism.

Really enjoyed that. Fantastic performance, great atmosphere, easy drive home...

That Scott Parker ey? What a player!

That was a great win. Even if Inter Milan is not as strong as when they won the CL in 2010, it was still satisfying to beat them 3-0. We played well and dominated the match. We could have won by a bigger scoreline if we had make use of the chances we created. But the tie is far from over as Inter still had 2 one-on-one chances which they wasted. The big setback from this match was Bale's yellow card which means he will be suspended for the return leg. Hope the other players will step up and make sure we progress.

It was great to see Bale continuing his goal run. It was even better to see him score with a header which shows the amount of confidence he has now. But was really disappointed to see him got the yellow card which means he will be suspended for the return leg. He was really affected by that yellow card and was largely anonymous after that. Can understand Bale's disappointment as he will miss going back to Inter where he scored that hattrick in CL 2 years ago. Wish UEFA will consider rescinding his suspension as the football world will want to see Bale playing there.

Sigurdsson seems to be in fine form in recent matches, either scoring or assisting goals. Nice to see him getting the assist for Bale's goal and scoring the second goal himself. We will need Sigurdsson to be in this form in the return leg. Disappointed about Defoe not scoring again, even if his shot created the goal for Sigurdsson. He has now only scored 1 goal in 11 matches which is very poor for a striker. I think his goal drought is affecting Defoe's form as he was dribbling too much in dangerous areas instead of shooting. Hope he will rediscover his goal scoring touch which he showed earlier in the season.

Big credit to our defence for keeping the clean sheet, especially Friedel, even if Inter wasted 2 one-on-one chances. That was our first clean sheet in 7 matches. Hope this will boost their confidence for the return leg in Inter. I think we have to be more alert in the return leg as Inter will be gunning for revenge. I think Vertonghen's goal will be very crucial for us to progress. He scored at the very crucial time as Inter were trying to get that all-important away goal. Wish we had get a 4th goal though.

Great to see continue our fine form now, especially in Europa League. But we cannot get complacent as we still need to play Inter in the second leg without Bale. Hope we will be alert, concentrate and step up our game to seal the place in the quarter finals of EL.

Has anyone else noticed that ITV aren't using the camera in the East Stand roof and seem only to be using the one located above the Shelf? It's making European games a lot harder to follow as you can hardly see what's going on when it's over the far side. The higher angle gives one of the best overviews of a football game in the league and it's bizarre that ITV don't use it. Health and Safety?

It's been like that for European games for years.

Fantastic performance from the lads - superb attacking football for 90 mins

We made them look like Burnley for most of the game - could see it on Zanetti's face (top class gent, 2 decades of experience) - he knew.

Hopefully it also helped a little to convinvce Pereira a move to London could be great :-"

Apparently its used because its the best angle to transmit 3d pictures for TV. The high angle doesnt work very well.

A performance full of supreme confidence, self-belief and swagger, admittedly they werent a very good Inter team but we smashed them

Parker was my MoM, Siggy, Dembele, Verts very very good, Defoe lively but very very greedy, Bale was just Bale

After the drubbing against Tottenham Inter morale is at its lowest. Moratti did not like and now return to discussion Stramaccioni and many men. Handanovic, Ranocchia, Juan Palacio Guarin and the fixed points. And the others?

"What time is your Easyjet?" "What time is your flight (low cost)?". So sang mocking the fans of Tottenham in a White Hart Lane overexcited yesterday evening, at the end of the match against Inter. The flight Inter is not a low cost, but will return to Milan, a team whose morale is, by force of circumstances, similar to that of the fans.

The 3-0 practically closes the European season the Nerazzurri, and ended in the worst way in the second round, the first real challenge of great prestige, as the draw so far had served Inter opponents maybe not easy, but not certainly able to stimulate the imagination. Now, Strama-band, reduced the number of injuries and the ambitions of the "Scoppola" London (not the first of the season) must dive back on the things in our house. The Italian Cup is the closest target, but a 2-1 win in the first leg of Rome certainly can not afford to Inter of being already in the final. The third place in the championship is the stated goal, but no less difficult . The awakening of Milan has complicated damn things.

From today, however, the team will have to change the registry (as they always say the coaches defeated after a race): at stake is not only the qualification in the Champions League, but also the survival of the technical design and the re-establishment set this season and backed by Stramaccioni. The coach wanted to close the case by placing Cassano owner, Fantantonio but it did not help: performance colorless and not too eager. impression is that from here to the end of the year will have to do much to earn Bari reconfirmation. The same is true for Strama now that the European vent is actually a memory, close badly in the league might cost them their bench.

Many men of the rose, then, are widely discussed. Pereira Alvarez, not to mention Jonathan and Silvestre are several grafts to have disappointed. The key points that will be Inter, the senators are Handanovic, Ranocchia, Juan, Guarin and Palacio. In the middle, certainly Kovacic is an investment that the club has made thinking about the future, and without question it after a few games. For others, the outcome could be linked to that of the technician. If Moratti, who last night was at the stadium (and should not have liked), decided to leave it another way, the revolution could be broader. The group, however, hoped that as in Catania, after the "worst" you come to the rescue. The margins and necessary items are still there. The forces?

Think of a game and then you are to play another. More or less this is the concept expressed by Javier Zanetti after three slaps suffered by Tottenham in the going round of sixteen Europa League: "We knew that we faced an opponent in great shape and this is a course that is always difficult - the captain said - But I say that the game we had thought of in another way and the initial goal has upset. They run the ball well, with major counterattack, and they put us in difficulty. Too bad because we had two or three occasions very clear and a goal would keep open the qualification. But you never know. Now think about Sunday. " Zanetti admits: "Lately we go wrong the first time. We have to find some 'more concentration in the first few minutes so the team then they can give their best. " And finally talks about Samuel. "The mistake we can stand, it happens to everyone. But Walterl we miss so much and not only him, we had so many injuries that have affected the technical change management. But we did not even have time to complain, because there is already waiting for a challenge. "

Did anyone else see a strange situation with AVB and Walker in the first half. We had a corner and Walker was back to cover one of their attackers, scotty Parker was in the center circle on his own and then there was one of ours and one of theirs on the other side as well, can't remember who.

AVB was gesturing to Walker to get forward but Walker was saying that he was watching the man, AVB kept telling him to go forward, Walker looked at Scotty and he shook his head and told him to stay back.

Very odd, I couldn't figure out why AVB was so keen for him to go up and leave his man, I think it was 2-0 at the time and leaving a man to have a clear run at goal could have been disastrous, especially as Parkers not the quickest.

Any ideas what was going on there?
