He didn't really do much until he was moved over to the right. We can't continue to attempt to play him on the left. Its a complete waste. Also if we move townsend over to the left it will stop him shooting every time he gets the ball.

are you serious? what did he do? he looked good, ran at them, bit of pace, had loads of shots, didnt score, offered little width, didnt really get behind them, turned back on himself. He looked good but provided very little, like many players today.

yes, a generally good performance but with the domination we showed if certain players would have used the ball better we would have been fine. We looked so much more potent when we got the ball wide and to the bye line in the second half.

need to score more though...as its no good having a zero during the game and towards the end of the game when we have
only scored a zero as well.....LOL....but.......................

It seems like whoever gets put over to the left is being sent into purgatory. So much of our play develops up the right. Even when Rose is healthy, it's usually him creating the opportunity with his pace. The winger just gets lost in the shuffle.

out of curiosity. who played well for you?
 
BBC stats had us down as creating 29 attempts on goal with 12 on target which tells me we are doing something right. We'll have the measure of 14 of the sides this year, just need to get some results against Chelsea, United, City and 'pool.

All the players were solid 6.5s, no one had a particularly bad game but lets be honest and take the wool from over our eyes, Townsend actually 'did' very little today. He has 'done' very little in the league this season. For me, its simply not enough to run about, have a few runs and a few shots, especially at this level. He must have had 15 shots this season and not come close once. He runs with the ball then when its begging to be bent around the corner into the box he drags back onto his other foot. Additionally, he needs to be able to pick a pass, his decision making is generally poor. I have no doubt he will be a good player but he needs to offer more in a game he needs to actually contribute. Siggy is exactly the same.

Its not all his fault, AVB has to take some flack for giving him so much game time but IMHO, Townsend will only be first choice until Lemala finds his feet.

Young, English and at a top 6 club = all the ingredients for massive hype and over reaction, regardless of what he delivers.

I know it tends to "happen" a lot regarding Spurs but I do feel it was just one of those days for us today. Any other day and we'd have smashed 4 or 5 in against these. The keeper deserves all the plaudits in the world.
