Fair comment, and thus I would say it tells you that he clearly wants better options than he has. To my understanding, over half the squad are not in his plans if he has the choice.

It certainly seems that way. To the obvious ones such as Ade and Capoue, it looks like you can add Dembele, Stambouli.
Actually it seems like there are very few he does trust.

cannot understand why Poch has marginalized Dembele. Our midfield looks stronger when he is in it. His absence seems to coincide with our poor run.
