**Official Other Games Thread, Season 2012/13**

Re: **Official Other Teams & Games Thread, Season 2012/13**

Scotland vs Serbia really is a men's game.

Naysmith kicked out a serbian guy in the face while the ref wasnt watching. A bit electric this one.

All this after Sinisa mihajlovic, Serbia manager said scotland were a brick team.

SPURS INTERNATIONAL ROUND-UP:

Jermain Defoe, Clint Dempsey and Jan Vertonghen all found the back of the net in the latest round of international matches.

Jermain Defoe, winning his 50th cap for England, struck the third goal as Roy Hodgson's team made a convincing start to their World Cup qualification campaign with a 5-0 win over Moldova in Chisinau.

In Cardiff, Vertonghen scored with a thunderous free-kick late on to seal Belgium a 2-0 win over Wales in Cardiff. Mousa Dembele and Gareth Bale made up the Spurs contingent in the match, with the latter forcing a fingertip save with a fiercely driven shot as Wales searched for an equaliser after Vincent Kompany put Belgium ahead just before half-time.

Dempsey got the USA off to a superb start in their match against Jamaica with a goal after only 36 seconds, but Jurgen Klinsmann's team fell to a surprising 2-1 defeat in Kingston.

France got their campaign off to a winning start with a 1-0 win over Finland in Helsinki with Hugo Lloris in goal for Les Bleus.

And finally, Iceland ended an 11-game, 25-year wait for a win over Norway with a surprise 2-0 win over their Group E World Cup qualification rivals in Reykjavik. Gylfi Sigurdsson played the full match and it was his long pass that Alfred Finnbogason ran onto to ensure Iceland's victory.

1-1 with a few minutes to go

Adebayor has just equalised

brick! Recall Kane as soon as possible for the love of GHod!

We are a bit screwed without Ade...Don't think Dempsey really sees himself as a lone forward...

Hopefully we get our act together and have a forward lined up for Jan. Negredo maybe? from that report in the new Transfer thread

Interesting that Cameroon lost 2-0 to Cape Verde in the 1st leg of their qualifier.

Would be nice to have BAE available in January.

YOUNG LIONS AIM FOR TOP SPOT

Four of our players hope to play a part as England Under-21s aim for top spot in European Championship qualifying tonight.

Steven Caulker, Danny Rose, Adam Smith and Harry Kane are all in Stuart Pearce's squad for the final group match against Norway at Chesterfield's Proact Stadium. Kick-off is 7pm.

A draw will be enough for the Young Lions to win the group but they will go through to the play-offs for next summer's finals as one of four best runners-up even if Norway win the game and leapfrog them at the top.

Steven was on target in Friday's 2-0 win at Azerbaijan and is determined to go out with a bang.

"We go into every game hoping to win," he told the FA.com. "It'll be a tough test but on a surface we're used to and in front of home supporters, it's a game we're looking forward to."

It could be a big night for Jordan Archer and Scotland Under-21s.

Having secured second place with Friday's 3-0 win against Luxembourg, they have to beat Austria to have a chance of taking one of the four best runners-up spots in the play-offs.

Away from Under-21s, Emmanuel Adebayor scored a valuable last-minute equaliser for Togo in Gabon in the first leg of Africa Cup of Nations qualifying. The second leg is in October.

There are 15 play-offs for 15 teams to join hosts South Africa in the finals in January and February next year.

Sandro is in the Brazil squad for a friendly against China in Sao Paolo on Monday night.

Kenneth McEvoy played 90 minutes as Republic of Ireland Under-19s drew 1-1 against Latvia in a friendly on Saturday.

Re: **Official Other Teams & Games Thread, Season 2012/13**

Adam Lallana, Raheem Sterling and Jake Livermore called upto England sqaud for tomorrow night.

Haha just said the exact same thing in the England thread. He would surely bring a greater threat from crosses and would stretch the centre of the pitch using his more traditional wing play, caps for the senior team can't just be handed out to 17 year olds who have played a handful of first team games for a brick Liverpool team.. at least wait half a bloody season. Ukraine are a decent side as well, England can't afford to be dingdonging about with inexperienced players. Not that the experienced ones in the squad are that great themselves.

Re: **Official Other Teams & Games Thread, Season 2012/13**

isn't Sterling a left sided midfielder?

Re: **Official Other Teams & Games Thread, Season 2012/13**

Brazil scraped to a very lucky 8-0 win against China last night.

Sandro was an unused sub while Neymar scored a hat-trick.

It's on!

We are a bit screwed without Ade...

Luckily the transfer window will be open again before the african tournament,
makes it possible to loan a striker if we need to. Or sign someone permanently, I assume Bilbao will be desperate to get a deal for Llorente ..

Re: **Official Other Teams & Games Thread, Season 2012/13**

Fantastic free kick from Bale.

Defoe was hitting ours vs Norwich.. What a joke.

Spain score a late goal to save their blushes, that wouldve been a coupon buster for a lot of people
