***Official Match Thread Tottenham Hotspur v Saudi Sportswashing Machine 8:15pm Tuesday 2nd Dec. ***

No it really isn't.

We are able to pass the ball through midfield okay. I would say quite a lot better than castle for example. The difference was, 'castle made it far far harder for us to play. They were super organised, regemented in a clear shape. And they are good at closing down. We aren't. And that was the greatest difference between the teams. We had to be a lot more skillful to move the ball through them - and we did. But there are issue up front for us. When we're relying on Romero and VDV showing movement, determination, drive and finishing...you know that most of our attack isn't confident or good enough atm.
We watched the same game but our takes are so different it's remarkable. For me I didn't see much skill in use of the ball. When I think of the quality passing it's mostly from Saudi Sportswashing Machine, the passes that split lines, the passes that put defenders on the back foot they are from the foot of a Saudi Sportswashing Machine player.

But obviously you disagree, you have really interesting viewpoint, not one that makes any sense to me but that's the beauty of football.

Not looking at the ball at a corner being a punishable offence seems like it would give unfair advantage to the attacking team - how are you meant to defend against players if they are behind you out of sight?
Or tracking runners? Literally you look at ball then players to gage their movement, otherwise what's the point? Pathetic rule

John Barnes I thought but yes, one of them nailed.

Seriously, though he's taking too much out of the ball all the time now for me. It is a bit of a problem across the whole team, but he is the worst. Needs some good coaching.
That the joke mate
Beardley did it too
It’s horrendous

Kudus has the potential to be so so good. I think what we’re asking for him to do is playing into other teams hands

What I liked today was Johnson beat his man a few times and hit some crosses in. That meant they had to defend a bit. Then when he went off we had more bodies

And kudus for his assist stayed back to make that room

Ah
They changed the rules this year on not looking at the ball
Genuinely, how is ‘looking at the ball’ even part of this discussion when his head is locked by Burn’s arm?

I can’t get over the arrogance of it. A ref making a bad call, is a mistake. A process mess up like Liverpool had to ensure, is a mistake. Frustrating yes. This is just sheer arrogance. To have all the cameras you need, to have time, to then decide to insert yourself into this game and tell the ref to look again. It is utterly unbelievable. It’s not a mistake. It is being deliberately and confidently wrong. And it drives me nuts.

Our passing is so so bad
The stats will show it clearly

One thing on their first goal. Feel like it should be an easy fix. If Bentancur is over in the corner to double up. Someone needs to fill that space. Don’t know if it’s Kudus or Berg/Sarr, but someone needs to. Hopefully we fix that stuff, it’s just obvious.
Kudus makes no effort to get back, if he did he could've got to Bruno. As soon as he sees Bentancur moving over and leaving Bruno, Kudus should've been running back to cover it.

Did he? Haha. Fair enough.

Yeah it’s the rules
They showed it
I mean fudging he’ll talk about a new one
But it’s there
I’m not saying it’s a pen by the way

The VAR officials will know that they’ve really fecked up when they hear Bitter Jamie actually side with Spurs for a change!!
