***Official Match Thread Tottenham Hotspur v Saudi Sportswashing Machine 8:15pm Tuesday 2nd Dec. ***

The performance was decent and an improvement on recent games but to say we moved the ball well is a gross exaggeration,
No it really isn't.

We are able to pass the ball through midfield okay. I would say quite a lot better than castle for example. The difference was, 'castle made it far far harder for us to play. They were super organised, regemented in a clear shape. And they are good at closing down. We aren't. And that was the greatest difference between the teams. We had to be a lot more skillful to move the ball through them - and we did. But there are issue up front for us. When we're relying on Romero and VDV showing movement, determination, drive and finishing...you know that most of our attack isn't confident or good enough atm.

that's literally the problem we have. If we can get that working well then we'd be a decent team but our passing and vision is so pedestrian. We do have a few players with quite good movement but we are entirely incapable of utilising it.

After Eze’s first goal was NOT overturned a couple of weeks ago despite the offside players standing in Vic’s eye line, and now this, I think we’d only be harming ourselves not to make a statement about it.

As others have said, I’ve always thought such chat to be self indulgent and embarrassing but it’s nowhere near as embarrassing as getting shafted by VAR every other game and doing nothing about it.

Glad it’s not just me
The guys got the tools
But I don’t know what they are asking him to do
He seems to to take so many touches when he could pass and move
Exactly . Bad decisions on when to keep it or release it. As someone said, You've got to hold and give, but do it at the right time. You can be slow or fast, but you must get to the line.

Watching him in the after game review and he is supporting the penalty saying that Bentancur didn't look at the ball. Shay Given is the one saying that it is not a penalty and that it is not a rule that a player must look at the ball.
Ah
They changed the rules this year on not looking at the ball

No fudging way, make it a big fudging deal, so that every decision going forward is under the microscope.

Even Jamie "you sacked my dad" Redknapp doesn't think it's a penalty!

Not looking at the ball at a corner being a punishable offence seems like it would give an entirely unfair advantage to the attacking team - how are you meant to defend against players if they are behind you out of sight?

I hope we are working on ways to exploit that rule from here on
