This has actually soured the window alittle. I would (barely) understand the move if we got in an LB. But to get rid when he is clearly our best LB is ****in atrocious. Its not like we even sold him for a big fee. I cant imagine he had an argument with AVB or a fall out of some sort... If they dont like his attitude I cant help but think its a shoddy decision - as long as he performs which he clearly has done (last season he was relatively poor but due to injuries and stop start season I think).
All in all - terrible and doesnt benefit us in anyway shape or form - except a million saved which in the grand scheme of things is not much when you dont have many options in terms of LBs.

Seems mad to me. Why let a specialist left back go when we only have one relatively untried one in the whole squad? I was similarily underwhelmed when AVB let Townsend go out on loan last season after Chrismas we could have done with him IMO . Hope this isn't another mistake that is going to come back and bite us.

We always seem to unnecessarily weaken ourselves on the last day of the transfer window. BAE today, Townsend as you say in January, Pienaar a year before that, and Jenas' loan to Villa the window before that left us short in central midfield too.

Was just coming on here to say I think we'll make top four with BAE back in the team, not make it without. Oh dear. We need his creativity and skill at the back, not Rose ramraiding in straight lines before smashing over barely controlled crosses. Our full backs will be our downfall this season.

I can't believe we are left with Rose as left back. He is shocking and BAe is by far the better left back. That will cost is big time this season.

I blame him for that goal too, but differently, I thought he should have pressed upwards to deny time and space for that ball to be played in (eventually to walcott) - he could see he had capoue alongside, but i guess he was winded from all those attacking runs.

The fact BAE has gone to QPR says it all for me - the fella is a liability. I like him, his interviews are great but he ain't very good.
How many on here were touting him as one of the top 3 left backs in the country? He isn't even top 15. That said, we should have gotten cover in. I'm guessing AVB is happy with Fryers, Verts or Naughton as cover for Rose. I'm not, personally, but then that's why I'm paid peanuts to sit in front of a screen Monday to Friday while AVB is paid millions to manage Spurs.
