Harry Kane MBE

Second top scorer in the league with 12 goals in 15 games, yeah, wouldn't score loads in any team...
Why do some of our fans (mostly idiotic ones) go out of their way to put Kane down?
Put him in that City team and he'd be close to if not matching Haalands numbers while also contributing more outside scoring.
TBF haaland has created some goals too
But Kanes record this year is outstanding
I never judge players on international level as it’s toilet and so much is about how things click or not

My issue with him (and it's not his fault) is that having him as #9 means we can never play a proper press.

His legs just don't have it in them anymore, the amount of times you see Bentancour or Kulu pressing in what should be the strikers zone is crazy.

It can't be too long now before we go to two up top, or him behind someone else.

Its been pretty obvious that he does not have the legs to be the dynamic player he was a couple of seasons back, to many injurys to his ankles has took whatever pace he had. Said a couple of seasons back he will do what Teddy did and play deeper.

I do wonder what happened to his pace.. He does show glimpses sometimes but its very rare. He hasn't had an major problems with his ankles since working with his new physio/specialist around the time of that Emirates Marketing Project Cup final which was a long time ago now. If he had hamstring issues or something you could imagine him being wary to sprint but could ankle ligaments impact you long term?
Either way, As long as he keeps scoring and assisting I'm grateful to have him... I do miss that early swashbuckling forward he used to be though, anyone remember him bulldozing his way through the Chelsea half back in the day?

That still won't help our pressing much. We can press for periods of games, but not as much as the best pressing teams, nowhere near it with him in our team. There's no more room for a #10 or one of two strikers than for a one striker not to do that in a proper high press.

This is life until he's no longer a first choice player for us. Luckily we have a manager that doesn't prefer or insist on a high intensity pressing style.

I agree we should be happy/ grateful to have him here and i think we all are, but he is not the same player and its no surprise after all his injurys and he has been flogged to death over the years. As i have said before i can see him doing the same as Teddy did once he had his knee injurys and play a lot deeper ( he is allready doing that a lot more).

As you said he was dynamic a couple of years ago as a swashbuckling forward but we are starting to see a different Kane, still a top player but one who has had to change his game a little. imo

He is almost on a goal a game for a defensive spurs side
I’ll take that every day of the week

how about considering raising the bar and a slightly better return ? too many games go with low shots on target.

if another identical player as kane were available now would you buy him?

According to BBC stats Kane has the best shot accuracy among the PL leading scorers this season:

Shot accuracy ... Player (Total goals)

70% ... Kane (12)

65% ... Haaland (18)
57% ... Almiron (8)
54% ... Moreno (9)
54% ... Toney (10)
49% ... Mitrovic (9)

Kane gets stick from some elements of Spurs fans for not haring around like a mad man, and that supposedly for those people being a sign that he doesnt care or isn't trying

He's the same with England, so I suppose he doesnt care about England either

Interesting to hear that at least Norwegian commentators are now aware Kane is much more than simply a (great) goalscorer. His vision and passing was on a different level to most - if not all - other players yesterday. It's a joy to watch his one touch passes, long balls and through balls, most delivered with pin point accuracy. He's special.

Yes, and whenever he has possession he's ALWAYS looking for THE most creative attacking option. His intelligence and vision is something rare, especially among prolific strikers.

Thought I heard some "Kane should be in the box/further forward" type comments from them yesterday in the opening half an hour.

Then Kane ran the show when he got runners and half decent service and him getting further forward was never mentioned again.

There's always a couple who cannot let go. Micah Richards is the latest. But anyone with a third of a brain can see what Kane brings/is bringing...
