Harry Kane MBE

Sorry to be the monger of doom, but surely Kane is about to pull a hammy or snap an ankle ligament?

You can't expect him to carry a team for months, playing every minute of every game.

And then play 120 minutes in Zagreb, then fly home and play 90 mins getting smashed in the ankles all game.

Then play 90 for the three lions etcetera ad infinitum.

He isn't super human, he is going to snap imminently.

As mentioned in the OT earlier, this is where Mourinho should do a 'Sir Alex' and announce tomorrow that he has picked up a knock and he has to withdraw from the squad.
The problem is, as I have said a few times, I truly believe that Kane himself just wants to play in every game possible as he is driven by scoring goals (not a bad thing by the way)

Showed his clever side tonight, great pelanty win, great time wasting at the end.

Did drift in and out of the game in the second half though. Needs a rest.

Vini is capable, we can make this work.

Him and Lamela are masters of running the clock down. Whenever we need to see a game out and both these guys are on the pitch, I have total confidence it will happen.
Wished they had both been on the pitch at the end of the West Ham game.

How about a game of "spot Lo Celso"

Looked really tired towards the end. Still moving about, still getting on the ball, but one of the few times it's looked like Kane only half wanted the ball. I was personally hoping the players would find someone else to pass to. Didn't want him making another run, risking an injury. He came through it though.

Hopefully he'll get some rest during the international break, but I'm not holding my breath.

It will be 3 x 90+ minutes for England as usual, and I'm sure they'll find away to play him in the U21 Euros as well for good measure.

fudge England.

I just don't get it, because any sensible England coach should see that Kane is tired and that they don't really need him playing against San Marino and Albania anyway. Running him further into the ground will only increase the risk of an injury and Kane missing out on the Euros. So there's actually a selfish reason for Southgate to rest Kane as well.

Kane should have enough about him to ‘listen to his body’ and request to be rotated. No one is bigger than the team and all that but we have plenty of options up top against weak opponents. If Kane does play the vast majority of the games, then his desire to win things will be interpreted to be focussed on individual goalscoring records in the first instance, rather than ensuring he is the best condition for the big games at the business end of the season.
