General Transfer Rumour Discussion Thread

With Berahino’s future unlikely to be fully cleared up until near the end of the transfer window

Are they closing the window early?

According to Marca, Man Utd have met Pedro's £22m buyout clause, but won't get him until after the Spanish super cup final on 11 August.

I got in a twitter chat last night with Neil Fissler of The Express re his story with the "Berahino to sign in 48 hours" jazz. He just kept saying that at the time he wrote it it was correct and saying cryptic things about "where was Berahino yesterday" etc.

Well, where was he then?

I do think we would be mad not to really push hard for Berahino this window..........the road is practically clear to sign him in that our rivals are well stocked in the CF/WF positions so we face no competition for him. He is a forward who is a proven performer in the PL, is versatile, is young and can only get better, to get him for even up to 20 mill in todays market represents a good deal imo. Next summer he will be well out of our range and the bigger clubs will be all over him. Lets do it now!

All the top 4 need a striker really. Arsenal want one but have plenty of wing forward style players, UTD only have Rooney now, Chelsea only have Remy and Costa, City only have Aguero and Bony.

Now before you say first team football, Kane is undoubtedly number 1 for us and Berahino may play up front sometime, wing sometimes or bench the other times and they could pay bigger wages than us and fill up their English quota so don't be surprised if one of them comes in for him as well.

Tottenham have had a €10m bid for Clinton N'Jie rejected, Lyon want €20m, according to Le Parisien http://goo.gl/lNQNJR

Jean-Michel Aulas insists a report claiming that the French club are holding out for a larger fee for the 21-year-old striker is a 'lie'

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas insists the club have no plans to sell Clinton N'Jie after a report in France suggested that Tottenham have submitted a bid for the forward.

Le Parisien claimed that Spurs have tabled an offer worth over €10 million (£7m) for the 21-year-old but the Ligue 1 club are holding out for around €20m (£14m).

The same publication had also previously reported that Christophe Jallet would miss Lyon’s Trophee des Champions clash with Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday due to an adductor problem, but the right-back is now fit to play.

"After telling lies about Christophe Jallet, you are persisting with Clinton,” Aulas posted on Twitter.

"Lyon have no need for money. Stop it!"

they wont, im certain of it. Utd have Rooney, Depay, Pedro is about to sign, and highly rated youngster Wilson to occupy the front positions. Chelski have Costa, Remy, Falcao and Solanke might be given a chance this season. Arsanal have Giroud, Sanchez, Walcott who can play through the middle. City might be on the lookout for another forward now that Dzeko is leaving so yes they might be interested in berahino but im sure if they were they would have done the deal by now. Money is no object to them so why would they wait this long.
