General Transfer Rumour Discussion Thread

Let's be serious for a minute; did any of you think Villa's board would as silly as Timmie seemed to be to go and actually pay money for Adebayor?
It was always unlikely (regardless of how stupid some of us think Timmie is, his board are not that stupid)

I'd assumed that their new DoF was dealing with negotiations.

Possibly. But my point is that as much as TS would request Villa's hierarchy to buy Adebayor, they may decide (and actually should decide) that doing so was not in the best interests of the club in the short or long-term.
To me it was always a deal that was unlikely to go through for this reason

You'd hope that those discussions happened early on.

I'm still hopeful that this is just message board wobbles and the deal will be completed soon.

Seriously, do you not think the Villa board might actually think it's not a GHod deal for them in reality?
I don't think it would have got to the point of him having a medical at the club (assuming that did happen) if the board were close to vetoing the move. I suspect it's contract nitty-gritty rather than a sudden change of heart by Villa.

But who really knows? :)

With all the discussions re Ade and his $hitty attitude, what has been missed mostly is that he is starting to look his age when he DOES put the effort in. The medical might have been arranged but the signs from the medical might have emphasised what a monumental gamble it would be to sign him for them..

Emirates Marketing Project confirm loaning of Stevan Jovetic to Internazionale.

West Brom have completed the signing of Rickie Lambert for £3 million.

They knew all of this before they made an enquiry about him. I am sure that it is just taking a while to sort out the details.

is he any good ? I heard of Lars more so I guess we are getting the cheap imitation !!?
Definitely an imitation, but which one is the original...

....yes I'm drinking

Odd, Inter are saying it's permanent.

Either of the Bender brothers would be OK from what I've read.

A statement on City's official website on Friday read: "Stevan Jovetic has signed for Inter Milan on a year-and-a-half's loan with a view to a permanent transfer.

"The 25-year-old Montenegrin joined City from Fiorentina in summer 2013, but injury has consistently upset his progress for Manuel Pellegrini's side.

"He will now go on loan to the Nerazzurri for a season and a half, with a view to a permanent stay.

"Jovetic managed 11 goals from 44 appearances at City, with the highlight his double in the 3-1 win over Liverpool in August 2014, and he lifted the Premier League and Capital One Cup trophies in the 2013/14 season.

"Everyone at City wishes Stevan well for his time with Inter."

More interested in Spurs getting the better player of two .. Just astounded at Spurs yet again .. Felt quite optimistic with all rejects and rubbish been shifted out door that we actually had plan in place with definite targets and that we wud have a strong looking team going into first game .. This past week just confirmed to me that the scatter gun approach is back , trying to sign any player who might be interested in a few quid ... Linked to Ukraine lad and supposedly putting in bid takes biscuit.. This guy has been available all summer , why now ?? Tight ass approach and still no sign of really strong attacking players or wingers no proper defensive top midfield player in .. Not worried cos this is typical Spurs .. Saturday week after a United mauling this place will agree to this ....what I just don't get is all the vibes , comments and itks thru out summer and even our manager saying we have definite plans and targets in place from end of last season all looking confident yet here we are a week before season starts and fudgein nothing bar a free transfer right back and a centre half nicked off Southampton. They might be good but no where near enough ... Shocking! Just hope we can give United a game next week but I sense another serious hammering
