Euro 2016 Group B - England, Russia, Slovakia, Wales

Sterling < Eriksen
Lallana < Lamela
Rooney (in his current role) < Dembele
Smalling/Cahill < Vertonghen/Alderweireld

He has 4 teammates around him, but every other player is significantly weaker than he is used to in that role. Seeing as the bit Kane isn't doing well is the end product of possession, that means that any weakness in the chain before that will restrict/worsen and chances he has.

Kane is no more tired than the rest of the players in the tournament that have played a full season, people are just altering what they see to fit their own internal narrative.

Harry does not look up to pace, everyone can see it. There is no narrative involved. Sometimes it's ok to put club bias to one side and just accept the obvious.

No other striker in the squad has come close to the amount of games Harry has played in the last 18 months. It's normal to see a dip in performance levels and sharpness.

Also you make the point that Kane doesn't have the quality around him to supply him. But he has had Alli and tbh I haven't even seen them on the same wavelength and linking up, certainly not like they do at Spurs

Harry is definitely looking a bit jaded, but playing in team that doesn't seem to have a system or game plan is hindering him.
If it wasn't for Dier I think England would be looking at 3rd in the group.

What like Dier, Walker and Rose? When half the side is made up with club teammates I don't it's right to blame players around them. The national team has more than enough quality and actually had played well in this tournament but hasn't got the goals of wins that the performances merited.

He was the same at the start of this season - was he tired then?

At the start of the season he was getting on the end of chances, missing them, he was effectively linking with teammates, holding up the ball and laying it off, running inyo wide areas and showed good pace.He was doing everything but sticking the ball in the net. Not now though

Right now his whole game is off

Like I've said before, it doesn't have to be just physical tiredness. Mental fatigue is also a possibility.

What a difference a team makes..Just heard commentator on radio say Ronaldo not getting enough support and service from his team-mates, unlike England players who are letting us all down.

Presumably an English commentator? A Portuguese commentator may well be saying about Portugal that the Portuguese players have let them all down but about England that Harry Kane is not getting enough service.

Hope Sturridge doesn't get drawn for the drugs test, he must be on some serious stuff to come out with "Sterling is one of the WORLDS best"
