Eric Dier

The fact that a number of Spurs fans wanted Eric gone did not mean they had to abuse him the way they did, especially on social media, I thought it was pathetic.

Yeah there's a real nasty element to football fandom now that means it's not enough to not just not rate a player - they have to be the root of all evil. Saw with Dele & Rose and we see it with Ndombele too. Dier has been a loyal servant, deserves better (as does any player for that matter)

But wrt social media behaviour the horse has already bolted on that front

Maguire has been on the worst end of that. Whatever he is as a footballer, and I think he’s decent in the right team, I have a lot of admiration for him for the way he’s handled himself. The way he’s been spoken about and jeered is an absolute disgrace and has highlighted everything bad about modern day fans.

Some of the abuse Dier and Sanchez received in the last two seasons has been beyond disgraceful.
