I'd rather sell Dier, but I don't think there's any takers.
But he is typically quite good in backs to the wall games where the intensity of the better opponents keeps him concentrated for the full 90 minutes. Also he is outstanding in making last minute blocks and interceptions - we know that. He fails - regularly - in those games where we have greater possession, where the team is defending 15 yards forward and he is typically one-on-one with an opposition physical striker. That's when his poor decision making becomes so evident and where his mistakes cost us repeatedly.

That's the problem, couldn't really fault him for today but he is prone to errors quite regularly and isn't far consistent enough to warrant playing regularly. It's a shame as part of me wants to keep him after today's performance but part of me still thinks today was a one off.

I think it'll depend on tactics - today he was clearly instructed to step onto the opposition and put the tackle and pressure in.
It's ball in behind and when he's turned he really struggles.
