Re: The Official Oh F*** Chelsea Destroyed Footie Thread feat. FSW

So how do you stop Chelsea?

Apparently you give them Benitez.

From 4 points off the top to 13 with a run of fixtures that weren't that bad, lost the WCC to a team that likely cost less than a tenth of what the Chelsea team cost, and currently 2-0 down against Swansea in the LC semi with the away leg to come.

I'm actually not sure he could be doing worse if he was trying to be. Not bad for two month's work.

Re: The Official Oh F*** Chelsea Destroyed Footie Thread feat. FSW

If they have sense they'll play Ba rather than Torres, and that will change them for the better. Luckily both the owner and Benitez still have a hard on for Torres.

Re: The Official Oh F*** Chelsea Destroyed Footie Thread feat. FSW

Now that Pep Guardiola is off to Bayern, they've got a lot of work to do to make potential transfer targets buy in to believing they're contenders for anything right now. I know money talks - and big money howls - but it just looks like a slow-motion replay of the first half of last year.

Re: The Official Oh F*** Chelsea Destroyed Footie Thread feat. FSW

Abramovich won the Champions League. He's probably melted it down and used it for his fillings or something. Point being, he achieved what he set out to do when he first entered English football determined to blow his dubiously-acquired wealth on some club or other.

Surely his motivation must be waning. And this dream of his to make Chelsea some uber-lovable quick-passing super club has now also failed miserably. It's full of ****s (like Terry and Cole), racists (like many of their fans) and over-the-hill chancers (like Fernando and Rafa, that duet of misery). Plus more mercenaries than you can shake a stick at.

I'd be ever so slightly worried if I was a Chelsea fan right now.

Re: The Official Oh F*** Chelsea Destroyed Footie Thread feat. FSW

If/when Benitez is let go, who will actually want to take the Chelski job apart from last hurrah payday chancers or Mourinho?

I seriously think Pep turning them down has put Chelski in real limbo and turned them into this decades Atletico Madrid under Jesus Gil, just with a much more destructive downward spiral.

Thank you Pep!

Re: The Official Oh F*** Chelsea Destroyed Footie Thread feat. FSW

For all Chelsea's problems, they're massive favourites to finish above us and Arsenal.

http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/premier-league/top-4-finish

It would be a tremendous achievement for us to finish above them, but I can't see it.

If the bookies and punters are right, Chelsea will get CL next season, hardly indicative of a massive downward spiral.

They're not the team they were, but they're still 3rd best in the country ATM.

Watford boss Gianfranco Zola is being linked with taking over as manager at his former club Chelsea.

But the Italian told BBC Three Counties Radio: "To be honest I am more focused on what I have to do here."

"I know people have been writing things but my mind is completely on this job."

Ashley Cole has reached an agreement on a new contract at Chelsea.

While the deal has not yet been officially signed, the formalities are expected to be completed early next week, with reports suggesting the contract is a one-year extension.

Re: The Official Oh F*** Chelsea Destroyed Footie Thread feat. FSW

Chelsea are monitoring whether David Moyes signs a new contract at Everton as they consider candidates for their next manager.

Moyes is currently figuring strongly in Chelsea’s deliberations, with his suitability being discussed as the club considers who to appoint when Rafa Benitez’s period as interim manager ends this summer.

Jose Mourinho is also a candidate but there is a growing expectation that he will quit Real Madrid this summer to succeed Carlo Ancelotti at Paris St-Germain.

Roman Abramovich is believed to be very happy with Benítez, and would like to retain him after the end of this campaign, but he accepts that the appointment cannot happen given the hostility of the club’s supporters to the Spaniard.

Despite what one source said was the “disarray” at Chelsea, Abramovich is pleased with the Benítez even though has conceded that with Chelsea now 13 points behind leaders Manchester United any hopes of winning the Premier League have ended.

“There are still some trophies to win and we will try to win all of them. In terms of the league I don’t think we can do it,” Benítez said ahead of today’s encounter with Arsenal.

“But we have a top side coming this weekend and if we get three points maybe we can be closer. The Capital One Cup is there, the FA Cup is still open and the Europa League is still open.

"I just have to give the team the confidence that we can win against anyone.” Benítez is hoping to succeed Mourinho at Madrid should, as expected, he leaves this summer but there are also strong suggestions that Ancelotti could take that post if he is sacked PSG.

For Chelsea, Moyes remains an intriguing option. The 49-year-old Scot is out of contract at the end of this season and has already stated that while he does not anticipate any problems over a new deal he will not sign one until the January transfer window closes.

Moyes said he wanted to wait to see whether Everton were able to hold onto their leading players – such as Marouane Fellaini and Leighton Baines, both of whom have, ironically, interested Chelsea – before he committed beyond the 10 years he has already spent at the club working with limited resources.

If Moyes delays further it opens up the possibility that he could be approached by Chelsea where his disciplined style is admired. If he did take over at Stamford Bridge it would not only be the first time that

Abramovich has taken a manager from another Premier League club but the first time he has employed a Briton.

The expectation is that Mourinho will leave Madrid and while he has his supporters within Chelsea, including members of the board, there are a number of hurdles that need to be crossed before he could return to the club – not least the Portuguese having to offer some kind of private apology to Abramovich for the way in which he behaved before he was sacked in September 2007.

Would prefer a draw between Arsenal and Chelsea, even if Chelsea will remain in 3rd, for now. Have to be carefull about Arsenal as they always finish the season strongly.

Re: The Official Oh F*** Chelsea Destroyed Footie Thread feat. FSW

"The FA has charged Chelsea's Eden Hazard following his side's League Cup semi-final at Swansea on January 23, 2013.

"It is alleged that Hazard's behaviour in relation to a Swansea ball boy, for which the player was dismissed in the 78th minute, constituted violent conduct whereby the standard punishment that would otherwise apply was clearly insufficient.

"The player has until 6pm on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 to respond to the charge.

"The FA will remind all clubs of their responsibilities in ensuring ball boys and other personnel around the pitch act in an appropriate manner at all times and will liaise with competitions accordingly."

Are they saying more than 3 matches?
