the Tim Sherwood man love thread

Villa, Sunderland, Saudi Sportswashing Machine are all in trouble. Every season, It's always the manager to blame but it's the fact that they keep sacking them that means that they have no medium term strategy in place. Everton, Saints, Swansea etc. are far better run and until managers like Sherwood are either...

Top of the League ( in squad age )

The data presented in this thread doesn't quantify those things so it's outside the parameters of the discussion. How do you measure gelling? How do you measure potential?

Top of the League ( in squad age )

No it doesn't. It means only that we have a younger team than ALL OTHER CLUBS.

Top of the League ( in squad age )

big deal. Does it mean that the under 11s have more potential than the under 16s?

    Berahino in January for £25m?

£25m is enough to buy 95% of players in the premier league let alone the rest of the world. I'm sure there is somebody with greater ability and potential out there.

    The post transfer window discussion

The whole situation is odd. There must be something else going on. We've sold all our assets, leaned off the squad and are now betting even more on youth and a playing style. This team may well not reach its potential for two more years. Are we just planning for the new stadium?

    Harry Kane MBE

He's our only striker now, lots more pressure on hm to carry the club

    Daniel Levy - Chairman

To be fair, we did have one of the youngest teams in the league last year. We haven't sold any of them and young players improve faster than older players. Here is hoping I'm right!

If you were able to go back in time and change one thing about Spurs...

That we didn't have Baldini design our post bale transfer policy. That we took our time with spending the money and didn't sign anybody other than Erikson that summer.

    You'll win nothing with kids...

Always going to be a lot of anti Redknapp around but nobody can ignore the fact that it was our most successful period in the PL era. It would be interesting to hear which manager did a better job for us than Redknapp.

    You'll win nothing with kids...

Two games in and 4 points dropped. It's hardly the first time that we've not won at home in a game where we should have but certainly not the end of our aims to make the champions league. Yes we will probably lose erikson, Kane and lloris before we are in our new stadium but we need young...

    Franco Baldini

http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/franco-baldini-keen-to-take-a-break-from-football-after-tottenham-exit-a2472941.html Baldini is "taking a break from football"...another DoF shown the door...this time very quietly. I suppose he has a lot of DIY to get on with.

Yes to all that, we are much more Everton than we used to be!

    General Transfer Rumour Discussion Thread

The main evidence is the net spend of course. However it's hard to measure the ambition of who we are trying to sign. The transfer gossip is not always wrong, only you have to treat it with a pinch of salt. However we certainly aren't in it as much as we were.

    General Transfer Rumour Discussion Thread

Yep, it's not a bad thing. It's not that new either, we've been doing it on/off since 2004. The difference between pre/post 2004 has been clear. Nevertheless, its usually never been so bland as the last few transfer windows.

    General Transfer Rumour Discussion Thread

Looking forward to the day that leaders in business could have the confidence to make such a statement directly. However we only need to look at our transfer net spending and the price tag for the new stadium to say that we are not playing the transfer market game as we have in the past. We...

Those are just words at the moment. As I said, let's wait til the end of the transfer window to judge.

    General Transfer Rumour Discussion Thread

It's a bit of a panic post, we do need to judge the squad and signings in a months time. However it does seem we have withdrawn totally from the transfer market and we aren't even trying to play the game that way anymore. Not nessesarily a bad thing. Maybe the leaks for gossip have been...

    Funny or interesting Spurs Quotes

Two from Kane - these are great and why the fans love him. “I’m loving every minute, going out there and playing with my mates, scoring goals. That’s when you’re confident and that’s how I feel." Asked whether he would consider leaving Spurs to meet his ambitions, Kane told The Sun: “No...
