Transfer speculation

That would be my preference too. There's definitely a player in Janssen once he adapts to the pace of the league and rediscovers his confidence.

The only issue I have with that statement is "once".

I do agree Janssen has the ingredients of a decent premiership striker. I think physically he is built for it, and his style suits.

However, there is no certainty he will adapt, or will rediscover his confidence. And therin lies the rub. Thats the gamble.

Having been burned by Soldado (an excellent player, IMHO) I could well understand us being more risk averse in this case.

City bidding 60m for Sanchez.

Arsenal bidding 90m for Lemar.

Mahrez now going to Chelsea.

Panic stations everywhere.

One more (quality signing) would be perfect....

I've still got no idea who that might be

- Gray probably not now Leicester are losing Mahrez
- King signed new contract
- Balde, Mahrez and Sancho gone/going elsewhere

I'm really hoping for an out of nowhere one. Pastore or Sessegnon

Gomes is like a not very good Winks.
I dunno if he's any use or not, but for a player Barcelona paid €35m for that seems a bit of an exaggeration (yeah, yeah, I know, Paulinho).

Don't see the harm if it's a loan deal, gives us another option. Plus it'll be one in the eye for Dildo & Dildo.
