Kyle Walker

I think the bigger concern is not tat the club cannot manage without Walker but rather that some people feel that if Walker is seen earning between £150-200K a week at another club next season then the likes of Rose, Toby, Dele, Kane et al may decide they want a piece of that.

Those players' agents will be making sure that they are aware of what they could be earning elsewhere regardless of what happens with Walker.

I think that the bigger issue regarding what @thfcsteff has said, is players buying into Poch's methods. They are reliant of everyone pulling their weight and everyone buying into the team ethic. Hopefully, Walker still buys into this and things will be sorted out but the timing of this couldn't be a lot worse and reflects badly on Walker and the advice that he is getting.

As the other guy said with the old man avatar, this story is completely fabricated.

There has been no argument and he is not leaving.

This story is simply this months danny rose and the month before that it was Toby and the month before that it was Dier and the month before that it was Poch and before that it was Eriksen and before that it was Kane.

Yawn I'm going to bed.

There is a difference between a story saying 'Emirates Marketing Project want Rose and Walker!' or 'Dele to absolutely everyone!' stories that were doing the rounds a few weeks ago, which everyone including me should have laughed off. We can look at them and think, even if the story is half true and it is the agent trying to see what he can get, it's all very well Emirates Marketing Project saying they want to buy our defence but Levy will plainly never let that happen.

The difference is, this isn't some transfer rumour to fill the back pages. This is a specific story about Walker playing on specific concerns he has with Poch, and has been picked up by a couple of journos who don't have a history of trying to destabilise the club and in actual fact have demonstrated good credibility with stories relating to Spurs.

This suggests a couple of things - firstly that there is probably some truth to the whole thing. Maybe not exactly what the story says, but more the objective of what the story is trying to achieve. Secondly, and in conjunction with Poch's very pointed remarks asking the fans to trust him if he lets a player go who we all think should stay, suggests that the club know full well what is going on, and are probably happy with the story being out there, because it is much about Poch wanting to get Walker out (Whether it is to send a message, concern about fitness or whatever) as it is about Walker trying to engineer the move.

I think Poch and Walker have arrived as a crossroads and while it may not be entirely done, if Walker wants to go all in on 'crossing' Poch because he feels he doesn't need to be rotated, then he's pretty much done right there. No more commitment to the plan and the team means no more space in our squad. If Poch feels he needs to rotate his wing backs and wants to reserve his authority and the rift to do so, the club is bigger than Walker and he needs to do. If Walker feels he can play to the best of his ability for two top games every week, then more power to him. But Poch has earnt our trust.

And that is the only reply you can come up with? Says a lot, dosen't it.

KWP is a talented dribbler, but I fear he is too weak / young / undeveloped for the Premier League, he would get smashed to pieces by some of the Prem strikers

They all need to progress and mature and this lad looks to have the tools but still a nipper as you say!
I think the club will be wanting to promote from within when ever possible.
We might get a 'Davies' to bring on!

As Milo pointed out, paying bonuses in the UK is categorised as wages. Bankers getting around paying tax means all companies paying bonuses have to treat them like normal salary. So our wage data will include bonuses. Not that we pay that low anyway, we have what the 5th or 6th highest wage bill right?

My point is that basically, don't believe every figure quoted. Remember, some think Sissoko cut us 30 mill, when that was a price based upon reaching a variety of criteria. I bet that if we sell him,, Levy might even make a profit as I don't believe we paid more than 12-15 upfront. So when you see a figure of 70k a week, there is likely more on top of that we don't see in the papers.

Agreed. Critically (was discussing this with friends) Poch has NOT publicly rebuked Walker. Nothing has been said or done. There remains an opportunity for this to sort itself out, but the agent should (and this is IMO) shut the fudge up now, because patience surely won't be everlasting.

On a recent podcast, a journalist said that transfer stories usually arise because either
The player is keen to move
The agent wants to agitate for a move so they can get a big payday
The agent wants to scare a club into a better deal for his player
The buying club want to test the waters and turn the player's head
The buying club don't even want the player, they just want to upset the rival team unity
(Or a story is just made up as it is a slow news day)

Not sure which this is. Sounds like Walker is a little put out at missing the Wembley Cup Semi and Poch is asserting his authority and saying "Kyle, I like you, but I'm the boss and you will play when I tell you" as Poch needs to show players he is the boss, not the other way round, which is fair enough and also keeps the 'reserves' motivated.

Could easily be that there is nothing to sort out

As I said earlier, if he plays vs West Ham then it really is IMO a case of nothing to see here

If it's trippier then it isn't squad rotation coming in to play clearly

Maybe but Walker isn't the brightest so if he wants to chase that then and upset unity in the mean time then adios. I think the majority of our players can see past that for the time being. I really don't see a domino effect here.

Poch is boss if you don't like it anyone that includes ALL ... You can go.

I'd love to have this team stick together but not at the expense of team morale or ethics.

The best thing about this squad is the togetherness ... win together and lose together.

We have never had it so good

But why should Walker start at West Ham? During one of trippiers recent performances he was outstanding and got motm. He quite rightly kept his place in the team on the back of that and until there is a drop of form he should keep his place or when Walker plays better in one of his outings.

If there was an argument he would not have played at palace. However he played at palace because trippier played a few days earlier and there was no argument.

Or sorry what did the newspapers say? Walker got angry after Wembley and his face went red and then when he missed arsenal he couldn't take it anymore and exploded causing the argument to occur.....

lol this whole thing is laughable and it's worrying people believe a newspaper backed up by some 'itk' telling them it's all true! :)

Could you quote someone who actually believing in what said in the paper? I haven't read one, at least not in this thread.

I 100% believe in the Jack Pitt Brooke story. Whether Levy will let him go or Poch can convince him to stay is another story.
