*** OMT TOTTENHAM vs CHELSKI ***

Hello everyone,
GREAT result.
Didn't see the game last night, as it was starting at 11pm. our time.
Therefore saw the full game this morning.

Some thoughts:
- We scored 2 goals against the best defense in the league.
- We kept a clean sheet against the 3rd. top scoring side.
- Dembelle & Wanyama can play together.
- Wanyama, the Kenyan *, is a beast
- Erikson provided 2 pinpoint assists.
- Alli can use his head VERY well.
- Alli & Erikson are the top 2 midfielders in the league.
- Alli is the top goal scorer wit 10 goals, and 3 assists.
- Erikson has 5 goals and 8 assists

* Why do the commentators ALWAYS refer to Wanyama as "the Kenyan"

So here I am feeling at the top of the world.
- Having coffee, albeit an Irish one
- Sun is out with a clear blue sky and 30 degrees C
- Dolphins are jumping around in the distance.

Lovely - greetings from the Kenyan Coast

I think Poch may go 3 at the back for this one, matching Chelsea and crowding out the midfield while giving Rose and Walker full licence to attack down the wings. I think he will start:

.................................Hugo..............................

.........Dier .................Toby................Verts..........

Walker............Wanyama......Dembele...........Rose

.......................Eriksen........Alli.....................

.............................Kane...............................

Son and Sissoko to come on and offer fresh legs after an hour if necessary.

VJ to come on when we are 3-0 up to apply the finishing coup de grace!

You got it almost right - apart from VJ.

What kind of dolphins?

My points to nitpick on - Lloris' passing really troubles me. Perhaps his one weakness. He can put the side in trouble with his passing.

He only passed it short from Goan kicks from what I remember and some occasional hoofs upfield when under a little pressure

His kicking yesterday for me was fine

I actually find him quite likeable. Seems to possess a degree of humility and grace. Not things you would often associate with that club.
and because of this, despite being league leaders, le scum will remain as Vilest Villain and enemy - too many characters would like to take a pop at mmmm... well, since wilbrick and fibrebrick moved on, the others seem pretty tame by comparison, even walnut who just seems like a kid trying to grow a tache !

Jeez it's getting a bit sterile in terms of players with character - or am i missing something ? I mean, yeah, gloat at terry, but he's old, crap and even if he played, he'd be in our pocket now. Just moaninho really, but he's been too complementary about us too, Klopp as well.

Ah well, I just guess - we have the Fear Factor !

  • Chelsea have not won at White Hart Lane since a 4-2 victory in October 2012 (drawing two and losing two since).
  • Tottenham are unbeaten at White Hart Lane this season, winning eight and drawing two; their longest unbeaten start to a Premier League season at home since 2000-01 (13 games).
  • Spurs haven't lost a Premier League London derby at White Hart Lane under Mauricio Pochettino (winning eight and drawing four).
  • Tottenham scored with their only two shots on target in this match.
  • Dele Alli has equalled his 2015-16 goal tally (10). He has managed to do this in 19 appearances this season, compared to 33 last season.
  • Spurs have never lost a Premier League match that Alli has scored in (16 games - winning 12, drawing four).
  • The only midfielders to reach 20 Premier League goals quicker than Alli (52 games) are Rafael van der Vaart (44) and Matt Le Tissier (50)
  • Only Mesut Ozil (22) has more Premier League assists since the start of 2015-16 than Christian Eriksen (20).
  • This was only the fourth occasion this season in the Premier League where Diego Costa has failed to produce a goal or an assist.

Where was the usual panic and stupid fouls in the last 10 minutes? Is this team starting to believe in themselves?

I posted at the time, to slow down at throw-ins, free-kicks and dead balls, and I thought we did it to perfection and didnt even need to resort to the corner flag tactic which Lamela is brilliant at

Love your posts mate, your food makes me hungry and the temperature makes me jealous. Still it allows me to dream of a summer holiday on a cold winters morning in London. Oh yeah just remembered we beat record chasing Chelsea last night. It's all suddenly warm again.

I present you Cesc Fabregas, and Diego Costa. If you get bored of them there is always Willian. Yeah there are more than enough "characters" to dislike.

And, correct me if I'm wrong, both VdV and Le Tissier took both penalties and direct free kicks , didn't they? How many of their goals in this total came from dead balls? Makes Alli's achievement even more impressive !

It almost always is. This is just another myth. Some keepers can boot it into the opposition box, but they're not usually keepers I consider to be comfortable on the ball.

Watching the highlights I saw an interesting thing which I'm surprised "The Great Know All" Mr Tyler didn't see or maybe didn't know. Harry Kane was given offside from a throw in from Rose on about 30 minutes. A player is not offside if they receive the ball directly from a goal kick, corner or throw in.
Me and my dad are both referees, and we immediately reacted to that. Should not happen at this level!

At the ground this was my initial thought, but then I assumed that a free kick had been given for shirt pulling (both players had hold of each other which in itself was nothing unusual in that situation)?

I did, but when I saw the highlights I saw Atkinson give the signal that he had come back from an offside position.

Crazy decision then!

I thought that Atkinson wasn't great last night, to the point that he was intentionally not going to give any major/contentious decisions given what has been happening recently with Mike Dean. He seemed very reluctant to get cards out, Alonso in the build up for Alli's second on Walker being one where he should have gone back and booked him
