***OMT TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR v Southampton***

I've just rewatched the game. Really good away performance in what I had expected to be a very tough fixture. First 15ish minutes aside, we were in control throughout. We deserved to take the lead when we did and even allowing for the sending off, never looked in any real danger of letting it slip after that (save for a couple of uncharacteristically erratic moments from Hugo, who appeared hell bent on paying homage to the most bonkers exploits of his countryman Barthez at times).

Agree, aside from the sluggish first 15-20 minutes I thought we were a joy to watch at times.

Our slow starts are a worrying trend, just hope Poch can get it sorted some time soon.

Rev them up at the start of the game rather than half time.

I thought Sissoko was very good too.

Sissoko looks like he's getting into the swing of things. No marauding runs with the ball last night, but he played some great balls which led to opportunities. I'm beginning to warm to him by the match and we just might have ourselves a close to a £30 million player after all.

Looks like Jan will get a 3 game ban as many news outlets have picked up on the incident.

Special thanks to Sky who have done an extensive stand alone piece about it on their website.

FIFY

after watching the pen a few times, a little convenient that the turf under the spot is loose for a home game in which the opposition break fast players into the box with regularity...

Kane said after the match that he'd spotted that the penalty spots looked like new turf during the warm up. Should probably have had a couple of practice shots to test it.

He can't have any complaints. Was a needless and reckless thing to do.

Our lack of disclipline at times is Poch's only blight on his record IMO. That kind of behaviour/play comes from the manager. Rose has 7 yellows already this season! He might as well try and pick up 8,9 and 10 sharpish as the fixtures in February/March are far kinder than the games in April/May.

Would be a ridiculous suspension. Wasn't an off the ball incident and at no point does Vertonghen look at Rodriguez. A complete accident I'd say and if those sorts of things are going to result in retrospective action then we'll be having 2 or 3 incidents resulting in such in every game.

Wouldn't be ridiculous at all. He knew what he was doing even if he wasn't looking. It's a joke that Fabregas got away with it and others have recently too but that doesn't mean Vertonghen should as well.

Agree but I wonder if those other incidents someone brought up yesterday got the same attention in the press as this one with Jan.
