*** Official Film Thread ***

Will be glad when all the superhero/comic book films die a very natural and overdue death.

Other than the earlier batman films they all are third rate tripe!

Agree but I very much liked the Nolan Batman trilogy and more recently laughed my ass off watching the brilliant Deadpool.

mostly agree

I enjoyed the first two Iron Man movies quite a bit though

Agree with these exceptions.

But its time to move on..........

I now see George RR Martin's 'Wild Card' has been picked up for TV. Dont know much about it other than what I've seen in the presser. It all sound very familiar though, sadly......

I liked the Bale Batman films, but I think the best version of Batman was the cartoon I watched as a kid. Mark Hamill did the voice of The Joker.

I remember taking my lad to see masters of the Universe ( he-man) when it first came out in 87, the only people in the place were us and another Dad and his lad. Both myself and the other Dad enjoyed it more then the kids i think. It was brilliant.

I loved the cartoon when I was a kid, the movie was disappointing as there was no Orko

Had to take my boy to Houndsditch Warehouse to see Father Christmas on the MoU ride in the 80's

nothing has really come close to the Hell Boy movies IMO and even they predate the recent explosion of the genre so not sure they should be grouped in with them?

GotG was good tbf but your Iron Mans and Spidermans can get fudged along with The Avengers and all that brick

I just watched 2001 A Space Odyssey for the first time. Meh. Boring. So, so slow. And then the ending, wtf? Really expected so much more. Could have been shortened to 10 minutes long. And the monkeys at the start, Jesus Christ that is dated. I can see that it was influential and loads of other films and videos have since ripped it off. But looking at it from this end of time, sheez it was long and tedious. Never again.

Blasphemer.

I just watched the latest Jason Bourne. It was the same as all the rest. He remembers some stuff, gets chased, chops people in the throat, loads of people get shot yet Bourne can dance through gunfire like it is rainwater... 2 hours later a big car chase with unfeasible physics, all the police disappear and he gets to have a 1 on 1 fight with the main bad guy. Just as it looks like he might be killed, he manages to kill the other guy. I mean... that is about the 5th time they made this film... it is the same as all the others, just a different pair of trousers. Utter tripe. Do not waste your time unless you want to watch that same film yet again for the umpteenth time.
