See you guys in August

I am going round the house collecting everything I own with Tottenham on and will take it down to oxfam, seriously the last straw for me, why should we care if the club does not care, they took us for a ride for so long, today they just lost a fan, I suppose they wont care because they can replace me with some american or asian fan, that is what the premiership has become.

But I am sad, because today is the day I stopped being a Tottenham fan.

Mate, I appreciate we've been brick today and let ourselves down recently but, fudging hell grow up, it happens.

It's our best season in a very long time, we've got a great young team, with a great young manager. Plus, it's barely the second half!

If this is anything but letting off a bit of steam then you need to think about whether you ever were Spurs because it's a forever thing not a thing you get to forsake.

We're all THFC forever. It goes without saying.

However, Chich is saying what we're all feeling today.

This should be renamed the moany ladies thread. Do what you need to do...

If you're interested:
  • Youngest team in the PL finished 3rd
  • Probably half the wage bill of the scum
  • CL next season!
  • With one of the best widely acclaimed young mangers (who still has room to improve)
  • We've brought through a record number of youth team players
  • Leicester finished 1st. How awful would it have been to lose the PL to the scum on the last day of the season? If you feel bad now... Be thankful!
It's a classic case of doing well, only raising peoples expectations. Baby steps. Get behind the team and they will come back stronger. Especially if we add a couple of quality players.

Yes I agree, albeit with a heavy heart. We should have done better today. No excuses

Agreed. But a league position that we all would have loved at the start of the season is now a disappointment. Hopefully Poch and the squad will make sure this humiliation (and it is, both with the result and the Scum finishing above us again) never happens again.

I think I might pack it in till August too and go and watch some cricket

I can't cope with the entitlement tossers. I've never known them so bad. Our best season in 25 years and they are behaving like absolute scrotes.

The demands to spend £100m on players with long names from their computer games all summer long will be even more unbearable.

- Youngest team in the PL were giving it big boll*cks, talking about how mentally strong they were and how *very* different this team was to the ones that came before them (Kane, Walker, Hugo, Toby...all of them, the same stuff, over and over). Got showed up, and royally so.
- I wonder how many goals that wage bill scored to see us drop ten points in our final four games to lose an eight-point lead over the scum, three of those games being against teams with *lower* wage bills than our own.
- Undoubtedly true.
- *Widely acclaimed* isn't an achievement. Bobby Martinez was *widely acclaimed* after finishing above us in 2013-2014.
- True, although they've proven insufficient depth in most cases.
- Be thankful it wasn't even worse? Great way to end the season, that.

It isn't even that this team is bad, they're clearly not, they're very good. But it does utterly bewilder me that people rush to hail this team as *mentally strong*, the *best in 50 years*, blah blah blah.

They have proved *nothing* this season. They've even finished below Arsenal *again*. What gives us the right to write off Harry Redknapp's 2009-2010 team, who achieved the same number of points while getting to Wembley to boot? What gives us the right to write off AVB's 2012-2013 season, which saw us finish with a higher points total than Poch has managed this season?

Just repeating *this is the best team in 50 years* endlessly doesn't make it true. Wenger has beaten Poch to the punch again, this team has bottled again. It is not a *bad* side, it is a very good one - but, on this evidence, it is no better than at least two other teams from just the last ten years, never mind the last fifty, with only the vagaries of poor opposition teams and an unpredictable league guaranteeing them a 3rd place finish.

We haven't proved anything, and deluding ourselves that we have won't get us anywhere. This *resting on our laurels* nonsense has to end, please. You want mentally strong? Look at Leicester. You want a team that fights to the end, that understands what a rivalry means? Look at Arsenal. You want us to improve? Then face up to our collapse, because it doesn't help to say meaningless things like 'best team in fifty years', and is disrespectful to some of the teams we did have that quite clearly have done at least as well as this one without the rewards to show for it.

@dubaispurs its what your eyes tell you - we're a very good team, you said it yourself. We haven't always got the points we merited, but we've been in the hunt, and we've been 90% there as a side. We are missing some resilience and experience.

It was startling how Poch took youth team players and moulded them into PL players almost overnight! Alli, Dier, Bentaleb, Mason, Rose's rise, and HK going from okay youth player to the real deal. But he is not a magician all the time, and you take the good with the bad (which is far far far less than the good).

What was our objective? CL. Have we achieved it? Yes. Are we a moany bunch of clams? Yes. Is Poch the right man to take us forward again? Yes he is.

Sorry, for all you lot trying to spin this... please don't! Today summed up why we are the laughing stock that keeps on giving... No end to this comedy is there

Poch has a melt down in the last 10 games at every club he's managed. Check the facts. It's called the Poch fade.

Now I go into work tomorrow and have to face those smug Woolwich fans and to be honest I have no defence

I'd far prefer to support our fresh hungry team, who are paid a lot less. The scum have a stale manager and side, and for tens and tens of millions more, all they could do was finish a point above us. Just smile at their slights. Spurs supporters are not glory hunters. Keep things classy, keep faith with Poch and we'll have our day.

That's the thing, objectives change. Our objective in 2011-2012, as Redknapp constantly protested, was 4th place, which we achieved in the end - but it counted for very little ,and you'll be hard-pressed to find a Spurs fan who views that season as an unprecedented success because we made our objective.

Poch has turned youth team players into Premier League players, and deserves a lot of credit for that. Other managers in the league have accomplished the same thing (Wenger chief among them), but fair enough, we've had precious few of them at our club, so it's warranted praise.

But we're not the best side Spurs have had in even the last decade, never mind the last fifty years, which does a grave disservice to the true legends like Mabbutt, Perryman, Ardiles, Villa, Hoddle et al, who also won things and finished above Arsenal at least a few times. In the past decade, a better team than this (with Modric, King, Bale, Defoe, and many others besides) finished fourth with 70 points, the exact same that this team has managed, while also reaching the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley. A worse team than this dragged itself to 72 points off the back of a *true* never-say-die attitude (going unbeaten against Ferguson-led United, beating Arsenal at the Lane, beating City, the works) with Bale the leading man.

Look, at the end of this season, what had once been our objective, CL football, turned into the title, and then became finishing above Arsenal. A spectacular, trademark Spurs collapse prevented either of those things from happening, and left us mournfully holding on to our original objective like it's some panacea.

Which is fine, don't get me wrong. But it doesn't change the fact that we're not as good as some of us are proclaiming we are, that we haven't killed off 'S.p.u.r.s.y' in any sense, that we're still mentally weak at the clutch when strength and determination is needed. Are we a very good side? Yes. Will we get better over the summer? Probably. Will we do as good, or better, next season? Hopefully.

But let's have less of this 'we're the best we've ever been' hyperbole, because we're not. Our collapse merits at least that much introspection, and respect afforded to our teams and managers of the past, even the recent past.

^Someone even has the heart to make a season review. I am not and I will not watch it. I am similarly not tuning to watch any highlights from this season on TV. I am very tempted to burn that jersey up.

This season despite the CL qualification has been a disappointment. If people want to not understand why certain fans feel so, that is their prerogative. Do not start insulting those who feel the performance in their guts and who cant stand finishing below Arsenal. That is why I disagreed with Poch on his 'not important to finish above l'arse' speech. Even if we both get relegated from EPL - I would be fine as long as we finished above those turds. I dont really care about anything else wrt Spurs.

I fully expect that he will feel the full weight of this disappointment and take steps to change his style and the players' mentality. This was a full choking display and we the fans have to take crap and BS from those tacos celebrating St Totteringham's day for another season. ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!! Where is my frigging baseball bat?
