I liked Erik Lamela before it was cool

I think he saw it, and did it while looking away. Not a stomp, just a foot on hand .... wtf was Fab doing anyway?. The comedy appeals were hilarious.

I'm sure someone can do a vine .... what music to use, though?
This. I think it just shows how much faster Lamela thinks than most footballers.

He shuffles his pace about 3 steps ahead in preparation, keeps looking ahead so he can see he's lined it up properly, and looks away for the last couple of steps.

Absolutely perfect execution and there's no way anyone can prove it.

gotta be :-

These boots are made for walking ..... and one of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you !

The Benny Hill theme tune, as Fabregas sprints from the linesman to the ref to the linesman to the ref, all the while beseeching them to witness his unholy stigmata

I can't even decide which action was the best: his goal pass, his "accidental" stamp on fibreglass's hand or his tough tackle against fibreglass which ended in a yellow card.
Great player.

I heard Tim Vickery on The Spurs Show podcast this week (which also has Paul Walsh on and I think is well worth a listen) and he said what Lamela did is right out of the Buenos Aries style of combative play.

All of them were equally good. Next time just make sure you do some proper damage to fibreglass would be my recommendation.

He had already gone up bucketloads in my estimation this season. After Monday, that went up double

Done well this year, however we do need another decent player in the summer who can challenge the three behind Kane. At the moment, Alli, Eriksen and Lamela pick themselves....we need someone who can put pressure on / challenge them and also who can rotate with them without weakening the starting 11. Ideally someone with a it of unpredictable creativity, kind of like Willian has, would be a useful

Someone like Pritchard would do the trick for me.

Honestly, players better than Alli/Eriksen (on quality) and Lamela (on combination of quality/potential and how well he fits in Poch's system) will be either very hard or stupid expensive to get hold of (e.g. Henderson/Payet are both on over $125K a week just as example, clarification, not comparing quality, just cost)

I think our only real option is a striker (Kane backup) who can play wide, preferably with pace.

Pritchard, Edwards, academy types can be potentials, anyone good enough to be at those 3's level would either be too expensive and/or demand starting spot.

Erik Lamela, You’ve Become Man At Spurs Now – Graham Roberts

Graham Roberts feels Erik Lamela has finally managed to “become a man” at Tottenham Hotspur, with the Spurs legend going on to hail the Argentine’s performances in the present campaign.

Lamela, who provided the assist for Harry Kane’s opener in the 2-2 draw with Chelsea last night, joined the club from Roma in 2013.

The winger initially failed to make his mark at White Hart Lane, but his game considerably improved since Mauricio Pochettino took charge of the club in 2014.

Lamela is enjoying his breakthrough season at Tottenham, with the 24-year-old scoring 10 goals and providing nine assists in 42 appearances in all competitions.

And Roberts, who has been pleased in the manner in which Lamela has set up goals for his team-mates this term, also lauded the former Roma player’s efforts on the pitch.

“Have to say it again but Erik Lamela you have become a man at Spurs now, so many great assists this year and your effort top class, well done”, he tweeted.

Lamela, whose present contract with Tottenham runs until the summer of 2018, also has 15 caps and a goal for Argentina to his name.

I am sure Roberts not just referring to Lamela's assist against Chelsea. It must be something to do with his gamemanship against the Chelsea players as well. He has done really well this season. But his target next season should be to score more league goals !

How about giving Son and Clinton the chance to step up? Or perhaps Onomah or Pritchard? Meanwhile we do have Chadli too.

How long did it take Willian to become the player you now rate at Chelsea?

Uh oh.

Upon further reading, it sounds like this has been taken out of context (surprise, surprise!)

He's happy to stay here again next season because it's such an exciting time for the club, no mention of a departure date.

That's my take on it too. I think there's a translation or language issue there. It would make no sense to say he wants to stay for "one" more year - why would he be so precise? I think he means he is looking forward to "another" season at the club.
