*** Superspur vs Leicester OMT: The Sequel ***

I think that Eriksen needs a rest. And knowing that Leicester are bound to sit deep we need more threat from our attacking three. So im going to go with:

------------------Lloris------------------
Walker----Toby-----Verts----Rose
-----------Dier-------Dembele---------
--Lamela------Alli-------------Son-----
---------------Kane-----------------------

I like the energy of that front 4, i think it will cause problems against most teams.

Agree with you on this, Carroll was MOM on Sunday and I think it would be harsh to leave him out after that.

And Poch doesn't rush back injured players. Wouldn't surprise me to see Dembele on the bench and starting against Sunderland.

Which is smart, I'm amazed Leicester seems intent on playing Vardy against us .. seems a crazy risk

If he plays I'd be instructing the back four to crunch into tackles against Vardy as hard as possible, hard but fair.

Make him earn it and potentially change the outcome of the game by getting him subbed.

Danny Rose would be the main man for the job.

Due to the nature of the injury, I think Vertonghen is the man for the job.

Lloris
Walker
Alder
Verts
Davies
Dier
Carroll
Eriksen
Ali
Lamela
Kane

Picks itself I think, with Dembele on the bench for a last 20 min run out. Also I like Son from the bench for either lamela or Eriksen, he's not been great recently, but he's still got something about him and his energy against tired legs could create problems.

Are we on the t.v tonight?

We're definitely on TV, it just depends on which channels you have.

Don't you have streaming options in the UK for the TV channels? Here in Norway I pay for the PL channel here (TV2 Sport Premium), only for internet streaming, and can choose whichever game I want, except the Saturday 15 pm kick-offs, where there is only 1 available for live streaming.

Even if our conversion rates drop us down a little lower on the standings we're still doing well from set pieces considering we're above the sides around us who should generally be posting similar set piece counts - You said you wanted Eriksen off of corners AND free kicks - is that something you are sticking to in light of the fact we're scoring more goals this way than any other team?

I'd liken that to wanting to drop the leader of the goal scoring charts because his goal to game ratio isn't as good as players further down the standings

I didn't know that our return of two goals from direct free kicks was better than all other teams. I rather suspect that Eriksen's sole return of two goals from free kicks (both against Swansea) is not the best in the league this season. If you recall, I said that Eriksen's shooting appears to have come anaemic - both from free kicks and general play. I don't know what has changed from last season when he was able to shoot with both venom and accuracy. This season he is doing neither.

If you read back through my posts you should see I was talking about set pieces as a whole, not only direct free kicks. I was talking about set pieces as a whole because you said that you wanted Eriksen taken off of 'all set pieces, full stop' - I was just pointing out that we're actually doing very well from set pieces this season, I thought that might make you change your mind or something.

Without an obvious person to take his place on direct free kick duty Im happy enough to let him carry on even if he's struggling for form there - we know he knows what he's doing, his form should come back around

Absolutely. He is one of the best free kick takers in the world. I can't remember him missing loads from the edge of the box in recent memory. I don't think we've been getting too many or they have been very close to the edge of the box (Quite difficult to get it up over the wall and back down again). if we get one today in a decent position and he's on the pitch I will always fancy him to score

Wish they did.

Hopefully the day will come when you have matches on a PPV basis no matter when they kick-off. I know they still have a rule in place, but dont see why the PL cant set up their own channel. You pay say £10 to watch a match of your choice, all the money goes into grass roots/lower league/fund
