Clinton Njie

Didn't he just move to WBA in the summer thus making him unable to move again in january?

I think a cut-price Berahino is a decent gamble.

They won't sell for a cut price though

They aren't poor, don't need to sell just yet and have a point to prove

He will still cost £15m plus IMO which really isn't worth it with his contract position.

Just hope we have others targets lined up

EMBOLO PLEASE. If your'e right about WBA having a point to prove and not desperate to sell, he'll cost about as much as Berahino.

MCL is usually about 3 months to return

Chadli and Pritchards returns are timely though

I have spent the summer recovering from just this.

It's a worry that he has had surgery, as it is very rare that MCL injuries require surgery. Although it is quite common to injure the meniscus at the same time...so perhaps he has just had that tidied up??

Messi had the same injury...not sure how long it took him to make his return?

That would be better wouldn't it, as recovery from a meniscus tidy is 4-6 weeks.

What i meant was.......is he still has the MCL tear, so as you say could be 12 weeks. Just hoping the surgery was for (a common second pathology with this injury) a cartilage tidy up rather than some re-construction of the MCL, which is uncommon even if fully torn.

Will say (as I always do!) then I think Njie is an out and out CF or nothing. Doesn't have the skills (dribbling, passing, crossing, ctrnol) to play out wide

Hard to tell at this stage but we have brought in players before only to have an existing player or a "lesser value" one take his place by stepping up

I remember being excited about routledge yet Lennon was the better player for example

He does have dribbling ability, i think he is good out wide. except that the way we play ... we don't stretch play with surging wingers, so we don't take advantage of pace and the element of surprise.

I have the faith that we will see Clinton settle and start to produce in the new year. I don't know why but it is probably to do with the huge optimism this team and manager have given me.

Pace is a weapon that translates well when you step up levels ... even the best defenders in the world hate facing players with pace.

Clinton, given time (which we seem to afford players more often now), could be a interesting option for us.

no, he's a dud, hopefully we won't make too much of a loss on him

You must have a good eye if you can write a player off after less then a handful of games, unless of course you are being sarcastic?

yeh he doesn't pass the eye test but from what I've seen, there is little potential, his movement is poor, not much awareness, doesn't shoot whereas Onomah comes on and looks ready to play, he's green but shows a lot of ability.
All I've seen Nije do is run around a lot.

Way too early to tell. Players need time to adjust and he really hasn't had the minutes on the pitch.
