Daniel Levy - Chairman

Officially throwing in the towel, taking on so many Levy "policemen" is too draining. Mods, please read the last few pages before you take offence to that reference. :D

I'd say a lot of that is to do with how we play as well. Everton were always turgid to watch until Martinez made them a bit more exciting.

Well according to some fans we have been playing turgid football for the last few years but it has not changed our growth, so I do not think your point has anything much to do with it.

Stop trying to tempt me back into this thread Parklane, I've thrown in the towel ;)

You seem to be presenting a bit of a circular argument.

We have grown our fanbase overseas because we have spent a lot of time and effort in breaking those markets. We were miles away from that when ENIC took over and we punch well above our weight in this area now. Deals like this

are where we are ahead of the curve.

I disagree with the name-calling that's been going on for the past few pages (I've grown to appreciate that it doesn't help the atmosphere around the board one bit)....but nevertheless, welcome to the club, buddy. :)

Levy makes mistakes as he's human - but I truly believe he does not go out of his way to harm Spurs like some try claim. I am not backing or opposing him, he is what he is the chairman of Spurs football club and thus a very very easy target when people don't get thier own way!

And that's the crux of the matter. So much of the criticism seems to be based on thinking we should be playing a certain way or buy certain players. When that doesn't happen it means everyone at the club is clueless.

And they will scream and scream until they do. ;)

I'm a bit confused, just one post up, another poster said ENIC do put their own money into the club?

Me too, maybe Milo can clarify - I don't think ENIC pour money in to the club to give us an advantage, if they did I'm not sure there would be so many complaints

Aside from what Enic paid for the club, they injected about £40m more which I think was used to purchase all of the land around the stadium. They also, at the time of making the club private, did a rights issue whereby they again injected more money into the club. This was a way of them getting control over the club without having to offer the same amount to all shareholders. i forget the exact figures, but it could be argued that all of this money was for training ground and stadium.

People (and this is not aimed at you billy) need to remember that Enic are an investment company. Their aim is to grow Spurs to get a return. I can say that as they have not taken any money out of the club save for a minimal dividend about 5 years ago. Hardly the actions of asset strippers, or people that want their return each year.

Spot on and I have seen this mentioned many times over the years, and it amazes me that there are still some who ignore it and still insist that Levy is bleeding the club out of money.

Well yeah that's pretty much how I understand things GRB, maybe that helps with Jurgens confusion on the matter - I'm not sure the above has given us an unfair advantage over the likes of Villa and Everton who we have far outperformed under Levys watch, from similar starting points, which I believe Jurgen was trying to pin our relative success on (rather than dare to admit Levy may have done his job rather well...;) )
