See, I think you think that but I know you don't mean that. I can guarantee you'll be front and centre of the bus parade, not sobbing in your cereal that the wrong man was holding a clipboard on the sidelines.

Except it would not happen under Benitez. Not a chance. Him and Levy? Be serious...

It took Levy a whole season to find us a new manager. And the one he found left after three or four months (Santini).

…except for the fact you're choosing to forget that he had Arnesen as his DoF, who had Jol in place, who both appeared to have a plan to get BMJ into the hot-seat…I think sometimes Levy gets caned for being an idealist! The ONE thing I hope he has learned from AVB/Sherwood situation is to appoint from the head as much as the heart.

well it wasn't really like that was it? Levy put Pleat in charge while he spent the year researching football across the globe, particularly in Europe where they use the DoF system (which at the time was pretty alien to English football) - from that year we set ourselves up with Frank Arnesen as DoF and Jol as assistant to Santini. yes Santini failed miserably but i don't think anyone can look back at that 'year off' from Levy as anything other than a success, keeping in mind the year on year improvements we experienced from that point.

I'm fully aware of what happened in 2003/04. The implementing of the dof and Jol at the end was a success for the club compared to the dross served up in the previous ten years. But the whole Santini affair was an embarrassment after what had seemed an eternity to name a new manager.

Did anyone catch what Ronald DeBoer was just saying on sky sports news? I turned it on just as it was finishing.

Thanks, I'd be happy with FDB or Poch but the impatience in me wants it sorted!

The suspense is difficult. I imagine Levy wants to get this right as much as anyone of us. Hopefully this week. I believe it will be this week as JJetset has said it won't be this week and he knows fek all.

Im seriously not sure why Levy just doesnt go for FDB - this is a guy who really wants the job. Yes he gobbed off so what? I think it was more to do with excitement than anything else. Im not impatient as I dont think this summer makes much difference as most of the focus is on the world cup but FDB just hits the right notes with moi.

Levy is going to choose wrong again, Poch instead of FdB just like he went for AVB instead of Martinez..............
