Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

If anyone thinks any manager in the world would have stopped Liverpool today with Naughton, Kaboul, Dawson and Rose, then you guys are delusional.

Where I would criticize TS would be the midfield selection. If, and only if Dembele and Sandro were 100% fit, and TS chose not to start them, then that would be foolhardy.

Lets have a reality check people. Liverpool are currently the best team in the country ( top of the PL ) in red hot form and scoring hatfuls of goals with three pacy strikers.

We were without Ade, Lamela, Paulinho, Verts ( for most of the game) and Walker. That is about £100m of players unavailable. Add to that the players who are ****e or in ****e form, Solly, Naughton, Kaboul, Rose, Lennon, Townsend.

Then give them a two goal start to settle their nerves, increase their confidence and wreck our game plan.

What did we really expect?

Hahaha....I nominate the Pirate for the "Tim Sherwood need more time" badge award. Anyone out there object?

I wonder if we had the Pirate55 spouting such "we need a reality check people" posts after our drubbings with AVB?
Nah doubt it, then injuries and the 'cost of the players who are missing' was irrelevant.

Keep it up good sir. "Always someone else, it's never Tim's fault"

I wasn't expecting to see us to win today, not even a good performance. But it's so tiring to see so many abject, disjointed performances. Tim's been here long enough to perhaps have set out a certain style of play, irrespective of personnel, but we're nowhere near approaching that. Maybe even further away.

My concern is with the guy that keeps blabbering on about getting us getting results through guts and desire while he cowers away in the stands for the full 90mins.

Haha.....but seriously...the military are always prepared to literally kill someone if and when it comes down to it.
A footballer's most extreme end of their profession would be taking a penalty in the last minute of a world cup final with the scores currently level...not quite the same (and you know it you great wind-up merchant:ross::ross:)

absolutely

but the flip side of that is that in comparison football is so bloody easy, all you need to do is concentrate, how is there any excuse for phoning it in

it seems that it's all a ******** twitter rumour but after some of the laziness we've witnessed this season I'd like to get violent with some of them myself, all that talent and so little effort, it's lamentable

You make good points Pirate...very good points about the quality of our defence and I agree.

though you have to admit Pulis if given a week to prepare for this game would have had us organised and pool would at least have had to work for their goals.

as to what to expect...not frightened little kittens in the tunnel...Verts getting off with suarez cause they were mates at Ajax....and certainly not that cm pairing vs pool away.....how many of us predicted that in the omt....my joke 4-4-2 formation with eriksen & Dembele would have been more solid...at least Dembele can defend slightly.

I think your being a bit harsh...

its wierd because I wanted Tim to have a chance to prove himself...but todays actions were just daft.

we have had two managers and our players have been rank bad under both of them...

Our players are now WORSE under Sherwood; How many players have improved in their individual play under Sherwood compared to earlier in the season, apart from Bentaleb or Ade (easy as they didn't even play)?
How many have become worse than the AVB's darkest days this season?

The defenders may have had bad days under AVB, but they consistently look even worse under Sherwood.
Sherwood is a novice who is out of his depth

I think its now actually irrelevant to compare the two... we can all bring up stats and argue until the cows come home but we have to face a very hard truth...no a few hard truths.

-neither AVB or Tim are up to it! or making us play greater than the sum of our parts.
-We have too many crap attitudes at the club which has been evident all season.
-bar maybe one or two it looks like we have wasted millions of pounds received from selling our crown jewel
-Kingdawsons list about players out in the OMT was about right. Even LVG can do nothing with the likes of Rose,Dawson and Naughton...no point in him polishing a turd...its still a turd.

I disagree with much of that but can't be arsed to say why...at least we agree that Tim isn't up to it though;)

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

11 incidents shown in MOTD highlights:

1. Goal 1: OG. Four errors by Spurs players - Rose, Eriksen, Vertonghen, Kaboul - highlighted by Lawrensen.

2. Suarez breaks down left wing behind Naughton and crosses, almost finds Sturridge's head.

3. Eriksen chance inside box blocked by Skrtl.

4. Goal 2: Dawson gives ball to the best striker in the world. Kaboul and Lloris hardly epic.

5. Suarez header off post/Lloris save, caused by Kaboul and Rose losing it at LB area under no pressure.

6. Henderson sitter missed, caused by Eriksen losing it in the middle, then our 3 defenders in decent positions around left channel failing to track Sterling's run behind.

7. Goal 3: Coutinho....4 Spurs players around him, none of them go to the player, perfect shot.

8. Sturridge gets in on goal off terrible blunder/slip by Rose, almost chips Lloris

9. Goal 4: Free kick, Dawson swipes at it, Lloris doesn't pick it up.

10. Chadli chance inside box in channel area blocked by Agger

11. Eriksen chance slightly deflected, going in but good Mig save

12: FT

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

So Lennon and Soldado have denied incidents and rumours of dressing room brawl on social media

Even if they are true, I hope we don't sack Tim now though...we'd be an even bigger joke than we already are - and his mates in the press would give us even more hell than they would if/when he's sacked in the summer

I don't think I've seen anyone mention yet that for goal number 3 Lennon failed to chase his player back - he went for the ball and missed and at that point he gave up, slowly turned around and started walking back...?

He doesn't make any good points

TS picked Naughton, Rose, Kaboul, Dawson, nobody else, not the fans, not Levy, no ****ing one else. He could have started with 3 CBs, he could have added Sandro, He could have played Dembele, he could have played a youth team player.

He also should have known that Pool would have come out the blocks very quickly, so we didn't need to start with the high line and have their players run behind us 900 times in first 15 minutes.

He also should have gotten off his ****ing ass in the stand and got to the pitch once he saw his team being overrun.

At what point is it TS's fault?

Early in the first half Rose lost the ball (I know, hard to believe) and jogged back as 'Pool attacked.
