Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

I'd love to hear what the "Give Tim more time" mob say to that one...

you wont get a peep out of me mate.

a week to formulate a plan...what a steaming vat of pis*

mind you ignoring Sherwood our back 4 & Verthongen need to be well on their way....Hackney Marshes defending.

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

if the rumours are true that he assaulted someone, why would he have chinned vertonghen today? surely he didnt play for long enough today to show a lack of "belief, heart and confidence".

I hear it was Roberto Soldado. Soldado tried to hit him back but missed.

I'll get me coat...

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

In a way, I hope the rumours are "not true enough" to force Levy to sack him now; the only thing that would make us a bigger laughing stock than we already are is to have sacked TWO managers within the same season

Hey Nigey,

We've been here before eh...if you look back we've actually been WORSE when there's been a week or more between games; the more time TS has to 'train' with the team (if he indeed does that) the worse we actually seem to play.

He is a novice as can be seen by all now, and one that as well as being a cant has not got a scooby

I think he has had enough time. I think and have thought for a month he should drop down the leagues and earn his right at the top table. Will never understand the hatred he gets, he seems way out of his depth to me. The anger I think should be levelled at the guy who appoints him.

Personally I think we will be sat here having a similar conversation in a year or two's time, because even if Levy does appoint LVG and things go well for a bit, Levy has shown he can not keep his nose out of the football side of things for long and problems arise when he does get involved.

Sherwood I think can pick up points against lesser teams in this league, he reminds me a little of Chris Hughton, decent but not good enough and not good enough for where we want to be. I actually feel sorry for the guy because of some of the abuse he has had to put up with. Do not think he is good enough and do not want him after the summer but feel sorry for the fella.

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

Don't be dense: military is literally life and death. PL football involves millions for even the most mediocre player. You need a more subtle means of motivation to run a PL top 6/7 team

on very rare occasions yes it is, 99% of the time it's ****ing about in English rain and drinking £2 pints

our players might as well turn out next monday and instead of standing in a line and shaking hands with the opposition should just walk to our centre circle and all just take a dump and then walk off...seeing that would be as comparable to how I feel when I watch them representing our club.

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

I was surprised at Bentaleb and siggy as well, but, tbf, sandro and dembele have been awful recently anyway, I doubt the score line would be any different

when dembele came on he got held off the ball by that 11 year old they play on the right

Everyone deserves a chance in this life Glory...everyone no matter what background no matter what upbringing.

But yes I am forced to conclude that you are right...the more time we have to plan the worse we look... sometimes I read through all the Omt's and think...were all green....what the hell do we know? in this case I must admit not even my 12 year old daughter would have gone with such a naive line-up...as for tactics today...just damn.

Tim has had his chance...thats only fair.... but I admit he's well and truly not up to it!

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

Jesus! Another case of you TOTALLY downgrading the quality of our players to suit the usual "Sherwood is good but the players are ****" stance you take.

Now did you always think Verts was that bad eh? I invite you to show your previous posts where you said that both Verts and Kaboul "can't play at this level", especially any that PRIOR to when Tim became manager.

Let's see how we do eh?

If anyone thinks any manager in the world would have stopped Liverpool today with Naughton, Kaboul, Dawson and Rose, then you guys are delusional.

Where I would criticize TS would be the midfield selection. If, and only if Dembele and Sandro were 100% fit, and TS chose not to start them, then that would be foolhardy.

Lets have a reality check people. Liverpool are currently the best team in the country ( top of the PL ) in red hot form and scoring hatfuls of goals with three pacy strikers.

We were without Ade, Lamela, Paulinho, Verts ( for most of the game) and Walker. That is about £100m of players unavailable. Add to that the players who are ****e or in ****e form, Solly, Naughton, Kaboul, Rose, Lennon, Townsend.

Then give them a two goal start to settle their nerves, increase their confidence and wreck our game plan.

What did we really expect?

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

Anyone who starts with a centre mid pairing of Bentaleb and Sigurdsson away to the best attacking team in the league when Sandro and Dembele are on the bench deserves to be sacked for that reason alone.

This this and this. I feel slightly sorry for Sherwood, but he is paid a fortune and unfortunately is a million miles away from being up to the job. He is learning a lot but at our expense, sigh.

Haha.....but seriously...the military are always prepared to literally kill someone if and when it comes down to it.
A footballer's most extreme end of their profession would be taking a penalty in the last minute of a world cup final with the scores currently level...not quite the same (and you know it you great wind-up merchant:ross::ross:)

Great post mate. I like Levy a lot but he surely cannot think that a manager alone will get us regular CL football. That man doesn't exist. There are a lot of good managers out there. Levy should appoint one and get out of his way and let him do his thing. Even at that, without big investment, we will do very well to get regular CL football with any manager.

Feel for Tim. Clearly out of his depth but hope he gets to see out the season for his own dignity and goes and has success in the future as a manager.

This has been shambolic and it is 100% Levy's fault.

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

How can Sandro not be fit by now? His comeback was against Dinipro on 27 Feb. Given he would have had some training beige that, then he's been fit for say 6+ weeks. Absolutely clueless not playing him, particularly when we lack leaders in midfield and attack

Re: Tim Sherwood - Head Coach

MotD2 is starting soon. Can't wait to watch it again!

We were beaten within seconds today, a weak cross from the right and Vertonghen just let it squirm straight through him. Rose, Eriksen and Kaboul were not brilliant but Vertonghen was the key man, it was so easy to mop that up like John Terry has done for 10 years, but it squirmed through his legs somehow and we were beaten after 90 seconds. We were terrible for the next half hour. I have serious doubts Vertonghen was injured, I think he would have played on in a CL game.

Their front 3 today were awesome, sprinting, springing, lethal, every chance taken. For us Soldado never quite gets there in time and is bullied, Lennon never dares to go there... so toothless with Adebayor.
