Our defence is incredibly bad. Even Verthongen, one of the best defenders in the league, look completely average. I don't understand why we ABSOLUTELY INSIST on playing with a high defensive line at home when we get ripped apart in every single game. 24 points from 15 games and a goal difference of 16-19 (before this game) is ****.

****ing try.

I agree. To persevere with the high line is just mystifying. It don't work for us just fix it.

Our balls from the flanks once again are just awful.

Hmmmmm i get Soldado did some nice touches this half but are people serious in some of the praise? 26m and he's got 2 goals from open play in the league the whole season as well as missing sitters galore? yet he's now class because he flicked the ball to a teammate a few times? is this what it's come down too?

Soldado is so so so good. If he finished like he did in slain he'd be a special talent. Let's hope next season we can get everything out of him

And how often has he been in position to finish this season? I can count the times on one hand.

We have absolutely no identity under Sherwood, and we're lumping it into the box at every opportunity. We are so lucky Clyne mucked up to give us 1 goal, but Southampton just look like the much better side.

We are a side entirely running on emotion. If things go wrong they can get worse, but if we get a little break when the team perks up. That happens with all teams, even tactical ones. And I'm sure Sherwood has imparted more tactics onto the team that just aren't being carried out right now, but we really look like a purely emotional team today. So frustrating.

His class has never been in question, it's his form that has been the problem.

Simply abysmal. As bad as I've seen this year.

Sherwood simply must have zero chance now. Please someone tell me this is the case. I can't watch this **** again next season.

Mousa doesn't look right today.

-----Bentaleb--Paulinho--Eriksen-----

----Chadli--------Soldado------Lennon

Fuk knows, we're a mess.

Might as well chuck Kane on

Berbatov like performance from Bobby. Just need a goal now.

The irony is that when we signed him, the general consensus from those who knew of him appeared to be that he was a great goalscorer and but didn't contribute much else to the play. And yet in his time with us, it's been his link up play and touches outside the box or with his back to goal that have stood out over his ability to find the net.

Full backs have both been utterly awful, Naughton defensively, Rose offensively. Other than that, we're not doing all that bad considering we summarily refuse to press the ball in midfield and then repeatedly stand around like dunces waiting for marginal offisde calls when it's inevitably played over the top.

Soldado's first touch remains outstanding, and Eriksen's tried desperately hard to make things happen. Second half, get Kane on for Lennon and shift Chadli to wide right (instead of the roaming role he seems to have now) and replace him as the drifting winger with Eriksen on the left. If things still look glum, bring Siggy on for Bentaleb or Dembele and put him out on the left, with Eriksen shifting into the center.

This is winnable, miraculously. Please take advantage of this. COYS.

That's what you get for putting in a man who hasn't completed his coaching badges, and only done u21 football management.

Forget about style, we have forgotten know how defend as a team. We are going backwards.

Naughton has been utter dogsh!t. Wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt at left back but he's as bad at right back. Worst right back I can remember and that's saying something.

Team is a mess under Sherwood. The defence, or us defensively, have no shape. These boys will be in behind us for fun again second half.

Fairly even half and were it not for those two defensive lapses from Naughton, Spurs would probably have gone-in at half-time a goal to the good.

Such a shame for the lad, as he's been playing very well deputising for Walker recently.

With a bit of luck, Spurs should get all three points today.
