OMT - Tottenham Hotspur v. Everton - Sunday, February 9th - 13:30

Surely, this is a must-win game for us. With Everton being one of our rivals for a top 4 place, we have no choice but to beat them at home. With us being 6 points behind 4th placed Liverpool, we cannot afford to drop any points here. We used to have a great record against Everton some time ago. But we lost that good record when Moyes took over at Everton. Now with Moyes gone, hope we can get back our good record against them. Everton seem to have a mediocre away record this season. They have only lost 2 away but have only won 4 as well. So, there is no reason why we cannot beat them if we play to our best.

Can see Everton being fired up for this match, as they are also targeting a top 4 place. We need to up our game as well. With Sherwood relying entirely on him for goals, we need Adebayor to turn up with his goal scoring boot. Adebayor has been inconsistent since he came back into the first team under Sherwood. He has yet to score in the league at home and has not scored more than 1 match in a row as well. He also have not scored in his last 2 matches. So this will be a perfect time to improve that record. Wish we still have Defoe to give competition to Adebayor. Soldado has been so poor until now that just don't know what to expect from him. Ofcourse, there will be no complains if Soldado scores a winning goal or two.

Can see this match being won or lost in midfield. Everton have a very strong midfield that we cannot afford to lose the midfield battle. Can't help but worried about our midfield as we still have not come up with a settled midfield yet. Wish Sandro is fit as he and Dembele will be the ideal partnership. But with Sherwood preferring to start Bentaleb in every match, not sure who will play there beside him. I think it will be unwise not to start a defensive midfielder against Everton as they have many players who can hurt us. We need a ball winner like Capoue or Sandro who can stop their attacks. Otherwise, just hope whoever starts beside Bentaleb will try to control the midfield. Hope Eriksen will have a good game as we will need his creativity to create chances for our attacks. Lennon too can hurt them them with his pace if he play to his best.

Our defence seem to find it difficult to keep a clean sheet nowadays. It will help us greatly if we can stop Everton from scoring in this match. Hope Vertonghen and Dawson will have commanding match. Walker and Rose/Naughton seems like our weakest link in defence but hope they will have a error-free match. Want to see Lloris cover his goal more instead of keep running out to tackle everytime. I think Lloris will save more shots if he keeps to his goal more. It is going to be difficult but hope we can keep a clean sheet in this match.

We have not won in 2 league matches. So, we have no choice but to win in this match. We just cannot afford to drop any points to our rivals like Everton. We have not beaten any of our rivals so far this season. Hope we will turn up with the right mentality and win this match.

Any official team news yet ?

Feeling nervous already. Hope we will have all our injured players back, especially Sandro. Performance is not really important as long as we get the win. Hope we will win this match as this will go a long way in deciding where we finish this season.

Adebayor has been more consistent than most in that team

Me 2 with lennon, paulhino, dembele, eriksen in midfield. Lets get after them early the same way Liverpool did.
yesterday reminded me how we always went after teams from the first whistle under Redknapp

Sky were saying we'd only get 4 players in a combined Spurs/Everton team, I think these things are silly but in fairness they're probably not far wrong based on this season. Win today and we're 9 points off top despite being pretty dreadful all season, our highest goalscorer is Ade with 5 ffs
