Jake Livermore

I thought it'd be Carroll coming back if Holtby was to go..

I think might mean Capoue off on loan.

Can we sell him to another club or would it break the three clubs in one season rule? Maybe we've had an offer from Fulham or someone. I can't believe Sherwood's brought back that plank of wood to play in the first team!

Central midfielders: Sandro, Capoue, Paulinho, Dembele, Bentaleb, Holtby, Sigurdsson, Eriksen

Eight central midfielders.

That is too much competition even for a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1. Now we have Tim's preference for 4-4-2 there is a huge danger of over spill and bad atmosphere being created. At that rate some of those players must thinking "with the competition around me as it is, instead of just being dropped I could become 3rd or even fourth choice!" It's one thing for a manager to have one or two players knocking on the door every week but 4 to 8 players every week, that's a headache any manager could do without, especially when the focus should be on getting the squad to play together, gel etc. Something has to give, loaning out Holtby and Capoue makes sense.

I really don't mind seeing Livermore back at the club, he never set the world alight but did the job. Really don't understand this message board's obsession with have 25 perfect players.

I like Livermore, he has a good attitude and puts himself about a bit which I think we are badly missing at the minute, with Paulinho and Sandro's injury woes he could be very useful

I think he's certainly a better option in there than Bentaleb/Holtby/Sig and he could be a good partner for Dembele

Whilst I won't paint the lad out to be what he isn't, it's clear he is a hard working player who with a little more awareness coached into him could do a decent job as a defensive screen. Still not sure what TS is thinking though, Capoue needs a fair crack.

Maybe Capoue is agitating for a move because he thinks he stands a chance of going to the World Cup.

Worth pointing out that Livermore is only 9 months younger than Capoue, so they need to be compared as equals, not senior player vs youth team player.

Maybe Levy has decided that we can't compete with the wall of money at the top of the league, so we're gonna sell all our expensive players and play home-grown talent, with a compliant youth coach as the manager to oversee it.

City will be 1st (most money). Chelsea 2nd (2nd most money). Club we aspire to operate like, Arsenal, won't win -- and they are still quite a long way infront of us financially, yet miles away from City's £££.
