Watched the finale last night and was also disappointed but to be honest I've found all the seasons after Trinity to have been quite underwhelming, bar the occasional episode, and if the show' runs were more than 12 episodes long I would've probably knocked it on the head.

Imho best to worst seasons of Dexter...

Good: 1 > 4 > 2
Okay: 5 > 3 > 7
Poor: 8 > 6

Season 4 of Breaking Bad next for me, hopefully that continues to go from strength to strength...

the whole 5th series has been poetic and has done really well to link alot of the older episodes up. Some of the things said are very clever references to previous episodes and it's just oustanding writing.

Rare that you see a TV series that grows the way breaking bad has.

think im going to have too.

I took a big break from watching series 4 to series 5.

Some of the cut backs in the last episode made me remember some from the first series I completely forgot. What a show

Yeah there was a few references to the pilot in there.. one of the great things about BB was the way they tied it all together.

I would say

Very good: 1,2,3

Outstanding: 4

Good: 5, 7

Terrible: 6, 8
 
Breaking bad =D>

Never have I seen a show just get better and better.

So many shows out there just amble on, without a vision of the end. This was the complete opposite. Will be sorely missed

season 3 was the weakest in my view.

but you're not wrong in terms of "likeability".. i think they done a pretty good job to make everyone a "bad guy" - much like real life, no one is "good". Yet I still always felt sympathetic towards Walt. Even in the last episode, I just couldnt help myself but feel attached to him.
 
I hope Badger suffers a horrible death at some point. I can't stand the guy and that his name is Badger is an insult to both Badgers as a species and the Badger that resides on the crest of our site.

This is one badger that MUST be culled.
