The Blue & Yellow ITK Bonanza Thread

I'll take gritty performances and 3 points any day over what we went through back then.

Couldn't agree more. I think the year we played in the Champions League we played the most attractive football we've played for a long time. Credit to Redknapp where it's due.

However, I think we currently have the best team we've had - maybe my whole life. Sure we had a handful of truly amazing players in the late 70s / early 80s but overall our squad was inferior. Today though, we are looking like a real force in English - and European football. Assuming AVB can get the best out of these players, and I'm optimistic that he can, I think we'll end up playing football that's almost as attractive as Redknapp had us playing, while simultaneously getting better results.

We have real steel in the team now; and if we bring in a creative attacking player or two (as seems to be strongly hinted) we'll have some silk in there with the steel. We'll be able to dig deep and grind out victories against defensive teams, while opening up and playing skillful, easy-on-the-eyes, football against more free-flowing teams.

Levy has made mistakes during his tenure (even his biggest fans must acknowledge that the Berbatov / Frasier Campbell debacle was a slip-up. But when you compare us now to where we were when Levy first arrived? In my view he's been the best chairman in the premier league.

I kind of enjoyed that season. Strength in adversity. And the following season was great fun. 50,000 at The Lane v Bolton, getting a kicking from Millwall at Charlton, listening to the radio for news from the Dell.
Now we get to fret abut £20m signings instead. Willian would be an excellent addition.

Sadist..:) My first live Spurs at a teenager. Losing 5-0 at City, then the following season persuading my mum to take me to Mansfield away to witness a youngster called Glenn Hoddle score twice in a 3-3 draw

Nice lines.

Another song lyrics I don't get? Or is he telling us that he's coming?!

Get with the programme, why would an ITK give some 'info' which precludes any one of a number of very likely, yet oppositry, scenarios occurring! That limits the amount of ways he can later be correct! ;)

Atlanta Yid on COYS:

Started a thread called: One New One

"[Todor] Nedelev thats what I got

The other deals are only happening if Bale is off"

The Bulgarian winger mentioned yesterday

Also said this earlier today:

Joe Lewis will only sell the team if somebody pays 'stupid' money for the team it is Daniels project and so far he has made uncle joe money.

Joe lewis asked Daniel what he needed to make the Champions league and AVB told him..... the rest will unfold by September 2nd

Btw txt from biatch an update from Da Silva is coming

On his way for meet and greet then Training ground/Meeting room for talks. Dont know if medical is booked but would think so. Mite go there first depends on Agent.

Grey Fox on SC:

Been told we have agreed price down to Willian and his agent now as where he ends up, but we probably favourites another defender is on the cards and my contact thinks that we might for go another striker if we can nail La la.

We are trying to get rid of Ade, but it will be end of next week if we can do anything i.e.e last minute dot com, and sadly Benny will be gone if he can pass the medical he didn't pass the first one.

lol, what a taco

we would not fly Willian in on an "if" ...

The Goat has been told that that Willian is confirmed apart from medical, all AVB work, that Lamela is our next target, all Baldini work, AND there is a further CF relating to Ade's pending transfer, which in turn relates to Fenerbache's continued participation in the Champions League, although other offers for him also in early stages.

Willian and Lamela are NOT related to the Bale money - but there is an offer on the table, which may be taken. Coentrao mentioned IS part of this. Will only be taken if up-front cash increased, or overall deal size increased RE future income phases and FFP.

After years of Spurs transfer window torture and general disappointment this window has been insane. I love it! \o/

Does anyone else find use of the phrase "Bale money" or "Spending the Bale money" the single most irritating thing about this summer.
