This is my 1,000 th post so it might be a bit longer than normal, just to make it special like!

I have been away for a few days at a family wedding and up to now have been catching up on the deluge of stuff on here. On Friday evening I heard that everything was agreed with Soldado, just waiting for Madrid to sort their replacement out before announcement. Knowing I wouldn't get on here for a few days I asked that it be posted on Saturday morning so I didn't have to answer a load of questions. I have heard nothing to change that information so still think Soldado will be announced in next couple of days. I have £50 riding on it for SC coffers if he doesn't so I am putting my money where my mouth is, so just be patient. My source is not always great with timings or finances, but gets most of the other stuff right.

As for Bale I will eat my own gonad*s if he goes this season (Not even putting A&C's on the line here, not enough seasoning in the world to make that palatable). The reason behind that is our purchases this year have been told he is staying and we want to push on as real title challengers. There is also the issue of the various commercial stuff, e.g. BT, Times Square etc, Bale and his agent would have to pay compensation and costs if that all had to be changed, a lot of dosh. As pointed out in here Madrid don't have the money to pay what Levy would ask for, and we are in the driving seat as regards to his contract.
Baldini is still working his nuts off for other signings although these are mainly young talent, but still expect another "A" class signing before the end of the TW.

Who's his source, Mumorn? ;)

hahaha, my source isnt great with timing or finances... or knowing which players are at which clubs etc. All minor details really.

Posted on COYS concerning the offer for Bale by Real Madrid. FC=Fábio Coentrão

90m + FC apparently. DL has said no, but I am not sure how long he can hold out when faced with an offer like that.

I would reckon that is a deal worth between £105-115m.

If there is any truth in the rumour that Bale is looking to move, I would take that offer now. I know if we hold out the offer may improve, but the longer the potential takes to go through, the less time we have to bring new players in before the League season starts.
True, we may get an extra £10m if we out, but those extra few days could disrupt our start to the season, and could, once again, be the difference between CL football and no-CL football. The difference between those two scenarios, as we know, is certainly worth more than £10m to the Club

my first choice (realistic) scenario is he stays one more season, signs new contract with 80m release clause, not fussed how much we 'lose' on value - i just think him in the team for one more year with the new signings we have made and we'll be as good as in the top 4, if not higher - let him have a farewell season, doing his best to help us achieve our goals - we can then give him a proper send off and wish him all the best

100% agree. I would have no problem if he wanted to leave next season with that scenario. I'd love him to stay, but the longer this drags on the more my faith in him staying is waning.
Either way we ideally need to draw a line under it by next Monday. If he wants to stay, then sort out his contract. If he really wants to move, get the transfer done, and lets get some new blood before the 18th

Bale has already elevated Spurs global visibility to new heights with his great play and all this attendant transfer speculation.

He is one of the world's most-watched players and by keeping him on board this season, Spurs will enjoy untold added publicity and take huge steps toward restoring the club's image to the level achieved from the '60s to the '80s. The value to the new stadium and shirt sponsorship deals is limitless if he propels us into a CL berth or, dare to dream, title contention.

Daniel Levy has done a great job so far juggling all these pianos. NO amount of money can adequately replace the benefits of keeping Bale this season. I can't for one second endorse any other opinion or discuss what mix of money and players we should hope to see come in. He's just too valuable to let go at this point in time.

i agree and this is exactly why i think Levy will keep him at all costs - whatever money Real throw at us (unless we're talking money we still require to pay for the stadium) it wouldn't match what we could potentialy earn overall from a great season with Bale in the team next year.

If I were Bale's dad I would tell him to go for the money, too. It is logical. He has spent long periods out injured (and please don't give me that HR bollox about him being soft)

Another injury and what could happen?

I still don't think he will leave this summer because I don't think Real have the money.

at RM lets say he will be on 200k, at spurs 150k - thats a 2.5m difference BUT I imagine a) we would match what RM are offering for the one or two years coming up b) it is one year (atleast) he would be with us and then the big bucks.

That is a very good point. Only...sheesh...only an extra £2.5 million. I said in another post he is already a multi-millionaire.

But his folks should be looking out for him as should his agent...
