I always thought Iron Man was pretty brick to begin with to be honest. Standard Marvel film conveyor belt tossfest.

I really don't understand the love in with Robert Downing Junior, haven't rated him in anything since natural born killers (in which he was absolutely excellent)

Edit: Should point out that I haven't seen Zodiac yet, which I have heard is very good

He's great in Zodiac, bloody love that film.

After Iron Man 2 I have zero interest in 3 but seeing it next week for free, seems well reviewed by critics.

Robert Downey JR made Ironman popular. Pre-RDJ, iron man was cure for insomnia. Infact, he still kinda is. Unbelievably dull hero. Nowadays they more or less write him as RDJ in the comics. It's because of his performance that he's a big star now. Its funny, 6 years ago, if someone told you RDJ was going to be the most bankable actor in Hollywood, you'd laugh.

I watched Iron Man 3 last night and thought it was the weakest in the trilogy, almost as dull as Captain America and a real let down after the highly enjoyable Avengers Assemble. Ben Kingsley was criminally underused and Guy Pearce was poor imo.

A shame as I had high hopes after hearing that Shane Black would be directing, as he was at the helm for my favourite RDJ movie: Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.

anyone watched room 237? i love the shining but this is totally crackpot, weak conspiracy theory after weak conspiracy theory with no respect paid to the occams razor view that Kubrick was simply a brilliant director with a verve for unsettling his audience

There's too much Robert Downey Junior playing this lovable rogue with the Iron Man and Sherlock Homes series where he plays exactly the same character twice. That's five films (five and half with the Avengers, which I thought was hugely overrated and just another identikit superhero movie), GHod knows how many they'll be in a few years. I can't stand those Sherlock Holmes films, I live in China and all the films in the cinema here are action films. I thought "Sherlock Holmes, there must at least be some kind of mystery" but it was just another Indiana Jones/Bond remake. He's been phoning it in for a while. I like him in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and Tropic Thunder though.

If you haven't already seen it, watch the BBC series Sherlock, each episode is a 90 minute film pretty much, they have done 6 so far.

I'm a bit over RDJ too if im being honest. Think he's just playing himself in a suit in Iron Man/Avengers. He was very good in Zodiac though. Very good film, has probably the best slasher scene caught on film IMO.

They're brilliant tbf aren't they!

They really are, depending on what contracts Cumberbatch and Freeman have the BBC will have to splash the cash big time if they want to go a few more series. Cumberbatch is well on his way to becoming a star.

Talking of which, I have IMAX tickets for Star Trek 2 on the 17th, heard it's ok but Cumberbatch is immense.
