I never really get bothered by what they say but the pundit today did not have a good word to say for us, excused the trip on Defoe where the guy should have been red carded, and said we should have had 2 booked for simulation.

Very frustrating game, but stoke are exceptional defensively. I think AVB needs to stick to his principles a little more and stop playing two up front it doesnt work and because we have terrible squad depth it gives us no options off the bench. Ade and one other, sigg is looking great and I feel deserves a chance.

We are desperate for 3 players, the 3 playres AVB wanted all along - moutinho, willian and dimiao. Can we get players in this mould in January? Probably not, but we'll struggle in the long run without them because we have no depth.

Another clueless attacking display. Yes we had the ball a lot, because Stoke didnt want it. But as always, its just individuals trying to do something out of nothing.

We sometimes had these moments under Harry, often inbetween brilliant dominating wins. Harry got slated for these rare moments. Every home game has been the same under AVB, with no sign of improvement (even with players back from injury). When his new manager pass runs out, this place is going to go mad.

Ultimately I'd like to see Siggy on drifting in from the right overloading their centre halfs in the box with Ade and Defoe whenever a cross comes in from the left. Also he can play amazing through balls splitting the Stoke defence like he did last week.

We really struggle at home this season. We start slow and seem to get slower. I miss the days we come out of the blocks really firing. We strolled about today like it was an exhibition game. Very hard to watch Spurs at the moment. We seem to be a lack desire to win the second ball. We play with little confidence more suited to a team in relagation trouble than one that was fourth. Hard to understand.

We needed to focus on our central play to break them down so having a Dempsey/Siggy type player to enable us to play a "wonky" was necessary. You think it's a mere coincidence that when Sigurddson found a lot of space centrally when he came on?

Our best player in the first half was Vertonghen overlapping so wtf do you think would have happened if it was bale that one overlapping? You're the clueless one if you don't understand this and simply think "oh it's gareth bale he's world class left wingerz111 so shouldz play theres555" and you don't think a bit deeper than that at times.

The portion of the game in the second half after Bale and Lennon switched wings was top class and is as good as I'd seen us perform all season tbh.
We had 22 shots to Stoke's 4.
The same people happy with AVB selection at before the start of the game will now be raging about it with the benefit of hindsight no doubt. Typical toys out the pram behaviour from people who still can't handle a result not going their way after a lifetime of results not going their way.

Sigg was great when he came on, but this was a period we were absolutely dominating and Ade moved out to the wing so this was his position, for me this highlights further that we shouldn't play two up front and play Sigg behind the striker as they can find the holes, as what happened today.

Vertonghen wasn't really playing LB at all in the game. He spent more time running down the wings than anyone in the team today.
