***OMT - TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR vs. READING - OMT***

Good performance.

Siggy needs time.
Naughton did alright.
Gallas needs to retire.
Well done that boy Defoe.
Dembele who needs Modric.

Please can we get a real captain on the pitch please.

Important win, we needed it, shame about their goal (which was well taken). We weren't really tested, pretty comfortable - but we seem to, at times, panic at the back for some unfathomable reason.

Cannot see how you can blame Friedal for that one at all.

Walker surely for losing the goalscorer. Once the ball got clipped to far post though even superman isn't saving that. So possibly whoever let the cross in too.

The only thing is that he didn't get across his goal to potentially make a save. To be fair if any keeper had made a save it would have been a WORLD CLASS save. We have a WORLD CLASS keeper on the bench though. Not saying he would have saved it, but he would have got across.

After our start to the season all that mattered was the three points. I really didn't care what out performance was like our how we did it - just had to get 3 points under our belts to take some pressure off AVB & also off the players.

Now i can watch Match of the Day for the first time this season.

Decent performance and a relief that AVB has picked up his first win as our boss. Just a slight shame that we have conceded yet another sloppy late goal and Defoe didn't get a hat-trick.

Well today we had glimpses of what happens when all goes to plan. AVB is a very astute manager and hopefully we will be seeing us play this sort of football from the youth team upwards. We looked like we had a gameplan rather than just a bunch of players told to play their natural game.

defoe, sig etc - isnt that a kind of stfu to spurs fans cause they know brick ?

Defoe was excellent and even discounting the goals his all round game was very good.

Sig - brilliant pass but thats it.

I wouldnt mind putting Dembele in the hole behind Defoe/Ade.

I like Thudd and Sandro in middle

Vertonghen looks a class act indeed. Early days of course and bigger tests against far better sides lay ahead, but he's settling in nicely.

Hardly Friedel came for the ball when it wasnt there to come for and it sailed over him and was tucked into an empty net.

Gallas at fault to IMHO he lost the guy crossing the ball. Friedel came out to narrow the angle. He didn't "come for the ball" as you put it.

Too close for a keeper to anticipate a cross, he would have been expecting the RB to deal with a ball like that comfortably

good 3 points, we need to be far more clinical though, 20 attempts and only 3 goals is cause for concern

also can't be ignored that Reading are a very poor side, to setup like that at home against a side supposedly in crisis, i can't see them staying up

I'm pleased for Defoe but it means at least one more game of him upfront on his own, it worked today but one swallow a summer does not make.
