***TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR vs Liverpool OMT***

As long as we play well and don't gift them the goals, like we've done in recent years, I'm not too fuzzed about the result.
Obviously would love to win against this lot, as I absolutely detest them, but if we're beaten by the better team on the day, then so be it.

It's weird. You look at our first XI and it's hard to see where to improve (lwf aside). Yet still think we'd do well to get a result against liverpool. Why is that? Is it lack of confidence (on my part) or do we need a couple of world class players in the team?

Maybe the team hasn't been together long enough to instil full confidence, or maybe just our history against them doesn't help.

Good point about where we could improve... where could World Class easily players fit into our team? Replacements for Sarr and a wide player stand-out. But all our players have very high ceilings imo.

With Dier not starting we have at least a chance !!

We're not in a position to attract world class players, so it will be incredibly difficult to significantly upgrade anyone.

Without 2-3 of that kind of player though, we will always be a rung below those who can attract them.

Agree. We should go for the best youngsters. The modrics, bales and walkers. Which we seem to be doing.

We are due a win. A ref that isn't a macaron. And every attempt go in. Please that be today

Referee: Simon Hooper . Assistants: Adrian Holmes, Simon Long. Fourth official: Michael Oliver. VAR: Darren England. Assistant VAR: Dan Cook.

Apart from Michael Oliver, I don't think I have heard of any of those.
Just googled Simon Hooper - he was the ref for the Man Utd - Wolves game who did not give the penalty when Onana took out the Wolves player

First 30 mins we were a little bit sloppy working it from the back. Hopefully being at home we wont be as nervous. We can't be, against their attack. Need the boys to perform today. COYS

Arsenal were pressing really hard and we seemed a little risk averse when it came to progressing the ball forward. According to a few journos and pundits that was Arsenal dominating and creating lots of chances. Hopefully our players can find their rhythm a little quicker today.

I'd expect liverpool to do the same. Hopefully being at home our players will be a bit more assured in their passing and movement.

Good points. We just haven't been tested against this level of opposition often enough to instill that level of confidence in is as fans. After years of ups and downs it will probably take quite a while to instill that confidence.

Agreed and agreed.

We have to identify those players that will be even better in our system than what they currently are, those players that are a bit underrated for various reasons or develop those world class players over a bit of time.

Imo we have several players with the required talent to get to that kind of level.

I'm not sure Liverpool are quite as good at pressing as Arsenal are at this moment. Will be interesting to see, I could easily be wrong on that.

I think there were some nerves among our players for the NLD. First NLD for many of them, young players many of them. Having come through that with a result and overall very good performance hopefully tonight will be less nervous.

Bodes well if he’s a United fan :D

Can't wait for this one. One of my best Spurs mates is gonna watch in the flesh. So envious of all of you going! Lift the fudging roof and just blare out support from start to finish! We got this! I really hope Son and Madders are playing. I think we'll win 3-1.

Simon Hooper is awful! Why is Oliver the 4th official? I'd much rather have him in charge. Only competent ref in the PL!

Thinking… do ppl think this team would work?

Vic
Porro-Romero-VDV-doggy
Sarr-Biss-Benta
Johnson-madders
Son?

in my head that team could work
