*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester United ***

fudge me. Did not expect to win. Did not expect a clean sheet. We were excellent that second half. Some random thoughts…

1. The lads’ first touch is so positive. Everyone looking to take it on and move forward.
2. We didn’t sit off when we went 1 up. We were so much better than them for a long time even after we scored.
3. I had some fears on the keeper. He was absolutely outstanding today.
4. Maddison is made for Spurs.

Thought some of the subs were strange to be honest. Richi was just looking decent. Sarr also looked to be playing well. But I’ve had massive, massive doubts on Ange. Early days but they shoved them down my throat today.

Very happy and very impressed.
Agreed with much of that. Tbh though I think Ange is fine. He plays the "Spurs way," a welcome return to the way we played under Poch and Harry, i.e. on the front foot. Looking forward to this season. But hopefully he will continue to be backed. A few points

We have a beast of a midfield now, beautiful balance between creativity, attack and hopefully defence too.

Vicario is a decent keeper.

We urgently need to find a replacement for Kane - I guess that goes without saying.

Like you though, very happy today. Long season though.

On a camp site in new forest with patchy interweb. Got updates via bbc then just watched highlights. Our left side is massively powerful. Udogie, maddison out there and biss sauntering across then son as well. There's a lot of teams are going to clock that and from then on expect kulu and porro to cash in.

Loving Ange ball, I can't wait for the next game and it was mid Poch I last felt like that.

Richi stops the opposition defence playing out, that's a massive part of our game, he'll be very important this year, irrespective of his goal and assist numbers

He still needs to improve his end product. If he’s not scoring or creating he won’t be in the team for long. It’s all on him now, he doesn’t have to be in Kane’s shadow anymore. Firmino is a player who comes to mind who wasn’t overly prolific but he was quite important to how Liverpool played and he was at least creative, even if he wasn’t a natural goalscorer.

Said the same thing on the way back

there is a lot of product in a football match, not just goals and assists, he effected space brilliantly today, every time we broke he took two defenders with him, when they wanted to build from the back he pressed them, I thought he was great today and a big reason why we got at them so many times after HT

he's a very different player to Kane, we've been spoilt, this is how other number 9's in the league have to play (Haaland aside), it's all about hard work
