*** OMT Tottenham Hotspur v Manchester United ***

fudge me. Did not expect to win. Did not expect a clean sheet. We were excellent that second half. Some random thoughts…

1. The lads’ first touch is so positive. Everyone looking to take it on and move forward.
2. We didn’t sit off when we went 1 up. We were so much better than them for a long time even after we scored.
3. I had some fears on the keeper. He was absolutely outstanding today.
4. Maddison is made for Spurs.

Thought some of the subs were strange to be honest. Richi was just looking decent. Sarr also looked to be playing well. But I’ve had massive, massive doubts on Ange. Early days but they shoved them down my throat today.

Very happy and very impressed.

We have some good signings.

Udogie - big, Powerful, Never stops.
Vicario - some great stops
Van de Ven - settling in really well
Madison - setting the tone

Sarr and bissouma are like new signings. Yves was masterful.

Our full backs are going to get goals in this system that is for sure.

Think Richarlison just needs to keep working. But it's a little worrying. In fact our front three are a worry for me. Not much coming off for Kulu or Son.

When I saw perisic come on I thought it was to give Richie some decent crosses, something son was failing to do, but wtaf do I know, we battered them.

Oh…and Bissouma. I’m not a Conte hater but you have to ask what the fudge he was doing with Biss last season. Even allowing for his injury troubles, he’s an example of the difference a manager can make.

Looked like one of the leagues best midfielders so far this season. Considering he cost 25m and some others have cost 100m+, we may be seeing an absolute bargain.

has to be said, as good as we were, United are brick, mason fudging mount played, I'm a fat bloke in my 40's, yet twice the player he'll ever be

right, so i think we are looking good for the season, keep going like this we'll avoid relegation

maybe even get in the top half!

Signs are looking good, we were lucky a few times, but overall played really well, positive and n the front foot, Ange ball

Onwards and upwards! #COYS

I don't think it was tactical, he looked slow and weak last season, I think he's just sorted his fitness out.

Terrific second half. Postecoglou defo has the psychologist elment of managment. We came out second half with more belief, and controlled the game much better. Sarr and Bissouma excellent. With Bentancur to come back, and Maddison tidy in possession we finally have a strong midfield. Still want Maddison to close out promising openings and be more clinical, because he has the ability.

Kulu has had many critics. Not his best game but thought he did a lot for the team today, worked hard and moved the ball well. Richarlison likewise. Some signs that his hold up play isn't dreaful, and he was eager to score second half. First half he looked hesitant.

Baby steps. United were woeful, we will need to improve to beat better sides. Even United on another day would hve scored a hatful.

Was interesting to see us take up a low block. Didn't know that was part of Postecoglou's repotoire. Glad to see he is adaptble, and has multipule strings to his bow.

Onwards and upwards. COYS.

Deki was very decent second half, as most were.

All in all a very decent day at the office.

Richi stops the opposition defence playing out, that's a massive part of our game, he'll be very important this year, irrespective of his goal and assist numbers

I think the subs were in reaction to theirs. They took of Antony and Wan Bissaka so the need for the raw pace to defend was gone which is why Davies and Perisic came on. I think it was really clever tactical change by Ange personally.

Can't remember the last manager we had who done things like that.

The two halves were almost a carbon copy of the Brentford game, but against a far poorer opponent. First half was filled with United knocking balls into the channels, mainly behind Porro, to take advantage of the space out wide. In the second half, both Porro and Udogie moved slightly wider and deeper, and that utterly nullified United's wing threat. They were too slow to react.

Another astute half time tactical shift from Postecoglou.

Apart from that, the one thing that impressed me most about today was the players' willingness to turn with the ball and burst into space - take your man on, and beat the press. Rather than having one player adept at breaking the press, *everyone* tried it, and that confounded United.

Sarr obviously the standout - kid had a fantastic game, didn't put a foot wrong. Bissouma impressive, Maddison impressive, Vicario excellent.

We still have a problem up front with neither Richy nor Son really fitting up there, but all in all, this was a much needed early victory to really infuse belief into Postecoglou's risky demands to be brave and play. We needed this, and it is a huge boost to Postecoglou early on that the players will now trust his methods more.

Fortuitous win... Especially with that handball penalty decision. Ange needs to sharpen up the attack as we had lots of possession that didn't turn into much.

Bissouma, udogie, Sarr, VdV amazing talents.
Richy has no speed, doesn't hold the ball up well and spends too much time on the ground for my liking.
