***TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR vs Brentford OMT***

Annoyed that we didn't win, wanted us to hit the ground running with everything going on around the club at the moment. The reality is though that a draw away against a team that are good at home isn't bad at all. Some very positive things to take from the game. Richarlison needs to find his confidence/ form though because at no point did I think he was a goal threat up there.

It's definitely a work in progress, and we will get games where things just don't work, like today with the front 3.

Kulusevski definitely was looking to cut in and shoot, but all that happened was he came in to a crowded area and couldn't get a shot off.

Needed to hit a few from further back to draw them out.

Udogie just looks class. Well worth the wait, and was good to see Bissouma break the lines 2nd half, felt like we had Dembele back.

Sanchez had a couple of good recovery challenges, but I still feel uneasy every time he has the ball, or it's going his way.

Are you really going to spout this stuff every week now?

Ange plays a high line. We won't be dropping deep mate.

there is a lot of pitch between deep and the height we started, pretty sure he did move the line back a bit too, not checked the heat maps yet though, they certainly found it harder to get in behind after their second goal than they had beforehand

and yeah, if we are defending badly, I probably will spout off about it

The things that need upgrading are his confidence. Was always going to be pressured game for whoever played CF today. Same applies for Son. Too much pressure on them both. The other thing Richarlison needs to do is always be ready. He's too often on the back foot. Maddison too, he could have scored if he'd been ready to shoot first time. Small criticisms but the difference between 1 and 3 points.
Would like that to be true, but I've yet to see the player some others seems to see. I was not particulary impressed with him at Everton either. For me he's decent, a player for a team aiming 8-10th. Again, I would love for him to be the player he hasn't been yet, would save us some money.

I'd like to see Kulu on the left. Maybe Kulu - Son - Solomon.
Or depending on setup, try Son up top. Age seems to have caught up with him a bit, perhaps his qualities are better suited as a centre forward. He did ok last time, even though he can't carry us like Harry. But then again, who can?

Yeah that’s what I meant sorry. Kulu on the left, Solomon on the right and Son as the central forward.

Agreed - excellent from him, and interesting to see him ahead of Dier and Davies. Can’t see him wanting to stay though as 3rd/4th choice.
He's possibly convinced Ange that he's the next best option over Dier. So while at the start of the window all the speculation was that he was leaving maybe preseason and training has changed the pecking order for Ange and there's a place for him at least until we have another CB in.

The coordination in attack needs more work. When we get the ball wide, we have to work it around better. Better runs, more conviction, more drive. Brentford are difficult, but the best find a way.

Not that I disagree with the point that you’re making, but Brentford best Emirates Marketing Project twice last season. Certainly no push overs and very well organised.

If players have proved their worth to a manager I'm all for that, it's alot better than shutting the door on players because you don't fancy them. Sanchez was outstanding in pre season and was very good today so probably repaid some of the faith shown.

Ange has said, there are places for those wanting to buy into his methods, that's not a bad thing and probably helps separating out those like Dier who probably less able to adapt

We huffed and we puffed, but didn't manage to create as many clear cut chances as I thought we would. But at least we huffed and we puffed!

I love Royal, but for where he's playing most of the game (in the final third), I think I'd prefer someone with more end product. Porro might have suited us better in the last 15-20 mins.

Good first game, though, and with a little luck and less dodgy ref decisions we could have gotten all 3 points.

Onwards and upwards!

Good showing, good energy and I thought vdv fitted in seamlessly... i never thought of him, a good sign, he seems so calming and great speed.

we couldn't do much versus a pack of 10 players in front of the ball, there was half of the half spaces haha

A steady start versus a tricky opponent, this bodes well for me.
