Harry Kane MBE

Tbf though conte spent more with us than he did at inter.
This is true but it's a different context. The calibre of players Inter were able to bring relative to the strength of the rest of the league meant that in absolute terms sums didn't need to be as large. Yet in his two year spell only Juventus spent more, whereas the equivalent spell at Spurs had us 5th.

Conte needs top players. His system is too rigid and specific to work without those guys. For me we should have never tried to hire him. We didn't have a 3 at the back squad and so the amount of work necessary to get it working was significant.

Tbc I'm not an advocate of the spend, spend, spend model but I understand the type of coach that both Mourinho and Conte are. If you hire them, you have to be prepared to purchase ready made, experienced pros that will likely cost more than usual. It's just what they require. Anything else is a waste of their and our time.

But were players like martinez really classed when they were brought in?

I think marotta is just simply a lot better at picking players than paratici.

Anyone watching the Bayern match? I do wonder if Kane will struggle, at least for the first year, at Spurs he was the focal point, everyone looked for him.

Was a huge fish in a puddle. Now he is a big fish in a big pond.

Relative to the league yes. Roma were signing the likes of Tammy Abraham (a decent player but...). As I said it's relative. It is more difficult for us arguably the 6th biggest club in England to get quality players than it is for Inter who are historically the 2nd largest Italian side. But again that's the context and one that the leadership side of the club should be aware of.

I dont expect Kane to do much in this match. He has not trained with the team and has little idea how they play. Tuchel must have been either desperate or has written this match off.

Surely Milan & Juve are the big 2 in Italy?

No I don’t think he will struggle. It’s first half hour in a team he ain’t trained with properly at all. Arrived in a Germany at short notice.

He’s struggled for longer with droughts and he always comes good in the end. At 2-0 down always difficult to make an impact.

He’s been up against a good side. Think they should have started him.

Nah, domestically it was Juve and Inter especially before Berlosconi took over. Milan were the 3rd team.

However Milan have always been the most successful Italian club in Europe with Inter getting to 3x CL finals (iirc) but never winning.

They don't have much of a team on paper do they, Bayern? Would any of their players be sought after?

Plus that gimp Tuchel in charge

We were after the Korean defender, i was quite disappointed we never signed him. I quite rate Kingsley Coman too.

That new no.9 was a bit quiet but reckon he would score goals in the PL if we signed him....;)

I'm glad they lost. He would have one a cup and then all the memes would have popped up. At least this stops that for a while.

yep instead within 5 minutes the stats were appearing about Kane's record in finals. Each outcome was going to have some groups of oppo fans laughing

There’s already memes saying you can take the boy out of Tottenham but you can’t take the Tottenham out the boy.

Wouldn’t have been nice but they are just memes! People will always find something to attack us with
