Guglielmo Vicario

But it's not just a choice, it's enforced choice and loads on players. No way Kane, Sonand Deki play every minute of every game under the high press because injuries and rest regardless in what combination that happens will have to happen IMO.
You may be right but imagine a scenario where we are 2 down I just can't imagine Ange taking Kane off to bring Richarlison on. I guess we'll see but I just can't see it. [emoji28]

But you can see him coming on as a second striker though?

Can you imagine Ange taking a midfielder off, dropping Kane into the hole and bringing Richarlison on as the CF?

I know. But that wasn't your point - your point was about us not making "younger" signing.
Vicario isn't a younger signing.

The following however:
Porro
Spence
Gil
Udogie
Romero
Bentancur
Sarr
Kulu

All pretty darn young. All 24 or younger when signed.

One Croatian aside, all of our signings are young. Vicario is a veteran by comparison.

I meant in general we had a policy of deliberately signing younger players at a good price with potential that would still likely have re-sale value in a few years. We moved away from that model a little in recent years and are now moving back to it.

I don't consider Porro, Romero or Richie in that mould because they cost us a premium but I welcome more Sarr's, Spence etc. We do have more revenue now so it's to be expected we spend more but our biggest successes came in the 10-15m bracket a while back like Bale, Modric and Berbatov.

Why is every pass whacked high
Keep the ball flat and it travels quicker and more direct
apart from being a rare skill, the higher the trajectory also means less momentum from an intercepted header and a quick counter.
well at least he seems confident with the ball and much calmer than loris in tight situations.

From the reports i've read about him, hes not a specialist passer in the mould of Allison or Neuer but he is significantly more comfortable than Lloris and a better distributor of the ball than he ever was.

Think the key bit is he's working on it (from reports) and has improved significantly in last couple of years

His distribution looks as brick as Lloris, i hope he proves me wrong but i’m not impressed so far.

It looks like that in those videos to me too
Floaters like in that video get you in trouble as they get defended aggressively and pro actively

You're forgetting how awful lloris' distribution actually is. Vicario doesn't appear special in this regard but Lloris was way below average. I'd actually say Lloris might well have been the worst keeper with the ball at his feet in the Premier League over the last couple of seasons.

You also have to take into account that his teammates are hardly moving and he is maybe over searching for players who are not in anyway making themselves available to a pass, probably as much to do with their abilities than anything. But the plus is that Ange has spoken at length about how its key to his teams and so everyone will seemingly be on the same wavelength, he has also spoken about letting players make mistakes as part of the development. For that reason its hard to judge him on what he has done at a team that will not look anything like Spurs next season

I agree I can’t say I was particularly impressed by the distribution. But maybe the direction he got was to go long?
