*** OMT Spurs vs Everton ***

Because I don’t think he can turn us round in a dozen games (especially with Kane unlikely to be here) and Levy has continually shown he has no patience to allow a manager time to build the team.
He did it quicker at Brighton
He did it over a summer window and then went form Hughton ball to football with the same players
Lewis dunk looked decent

When you don't have players that can boss the midfield, you are bound to defend. They made us defend even though we had an extra player. If we had players that could keep the ball we wouldn't have to defend, în that situation, to begin with. A man up and a creative midfield... 18th placed team wouldn't have seen the ball. Imagine City defending like we did with a man up against Everton.
Disagree…. We were defending because we dropped into a ridiculously deep low block. We couldn’t keep the ball because that block was so low. Just an instruction from the manager would’ve sufficed.

Can you think of a more jittery player to bring on away from home while the team is lacking confidence and shape, replacing a player who's played well and can at least control a football and make a pass? Snachez didn't close the shot just swayed out the way.

Bringing on Sarr was the only sub that made sense we were swamped in midfield and they shot and scored from the middle of pitch right outside our box. Football 101. Shaky situation, protecting a lead - pack the middle. We left it exposed and weakened our defense.

The thing is with new managers, they are learning. They see training pitch Sanchez. Whereas we know he isn't commanding or confident in a hostile game like that. Stalini won't make that mistake again. But even playing Sanchez in midfield we'd have won. Take off Lenglet, get compact and put a wall up in front of the defence.

For the life of me I can't understand how no manger can't cotton on we can't defend well with what we got

It wouldn’t have made much difference if we’d had Modric in there tonight…. We had gone into such a ridiculous low block that it was pretty much impossible to complete a pass or keep the ball. It was terrible management from the sidelines from where nothing was coming. We even could’ve shoved Son central on the half way line and gone long over the top for him, it would at least have made Everton think twice about committing their centre backs to the attack as they were able to do with no risk.
That's years of defensive minded, scared mentality. Saw it against Southampton when they scored the 2nd goal, we had 3 players on the goal line and no one actually marking their free player at the 6 yard box. 2 creative midfielders would have bossed Everton în this situation. When you have 8 defensive minded players, what would you expect the team to do? It's one thing giving it to Modric and Bruno Fernandez to play with and PEH at DM to recover it for eg, another giving it to just Skipp and PEH to lose it.

Christ that’s harsh
He is better with the ball than skipp or Hojberg from what I’ve seen
He also has an awareness of players running off him which those two lack
I don’t think he is better with the ball than Hojbjerg and probably not Skipp either. He has been OK, reasonably neat and tidy but defensively naive.

Which one of the three are you talking about here?
I’ve defended Pierre loads but tonight he would win the ball and give it away
Skipp was doing the opposite
I’ve not seen Sarr do what these two did tonight

yeah Sarr definately should have been out there IMO,or at least come on as sub..
confusing...
The subs were pure conte for me
Take off our only left footed centre back and bring on one that can’t even play well enough with his right.., his first pass with his left went to them
And then bringing on a players whose first touch is normally to chase after the ball
Weird and negative if we had any ambition to keep the ball

Because we've pinned these two for the rest of the season.

If we were still looking and chose someone available it could happen sooner.

Has to be someone committed to finishing the season somewhere else, so has to be "someone".
What if we haven't chosen anyone yet either currently committed or not and will decide at the end of the season?

Look at Højbjerg here. In this passage of play he is strolling back infield. Keane carries the ball forward 10 yards before he starts to run. That is shocking. I realise he is a man behind him, but that should be for Perisic to cover.

I can’t work out who should go to him there
But the fact he walks another 10 yards unchallenged says a lot

There’s not really much wrong with our positioning in general here. Nowhere where Everton can create an overload on a single Spurs player.
