Cristian Romero

Really happy for him. Loved that studs-in challenge he escaped a yellow - or even a red - for. And we had to listen on the world-feed telecast to marble-mouthed Awlwan Smiff tell Peter Dru-uUURRYY! that he thinks Romero 'over commits' too often.

It's gonna be huge for the squad to have another World Cup winner in the change room telling his stories and firing the boys up. Hugo can take great pride in his play and reinforce any themes about winning Romero might discuss. We need this sort of presence.

Congratulations to our very own Cuti Romero. Well done, well played. First World Cup, still a young player. Such a challenge both mentally, technically and tactically. And he more than stood up to that challenge.

He had his poor moments, but overall very good defensively. His bravery and ability on the ball was just fantastic. Playing through the lines, playing with risk, making things happen. In a World Cup final.

Take a bow. Hopefully he'll be back to us with a smile and passion soon.

Wonder how he’s going to react to this. Seems a very much country-first player, will this give him a lift or perhaps a massive come down?

Argentina played with guts whereas france were sulky just like Holland and Belgium. Alvarez must have run twice as far as the whole french team. Delighted that passion won over shoulder shrugging. The fact that Argentine players prioritise playing for their countries over their clubs is completely understandable. Any attempt by a club to repress an Argie from joining the national team is going to backfire.

OK Romero fans, enjoy this one - just click on the You Tube link. Great footage of his origins, family and of course signing for Spurs. At the end, after winning the South American cup, his mum says she hopes he goes on to win the world cup!

Bit of a clam for this, imo

Interesting that's happened multiple times

Is a bit unsportsman like but shows his nasty/winner streak (delete as you see fit). The sort of thing opposition fans hate, but home fans like

Wonder how premeditated it is

Game needs more clams and our team certainly does, this what one looks like - lets not wish it out of him like some did with Dele

Spot on, I don't want another 40 years of licking our wounds sulking because some one was a cnut to us and we lost.

Time to join them and start winning things, for all my early season criticism of Conte he has that and we should get it soon enough

Just a bit of a difference there, he didn’t do it anywhere near Kane:D Romero is a clam in plenty of ways on the pitch, but I do find this constant screaming in opposition players faces a bit much….

But he looks likely to materialise Into a world class defender so I will accept that trade off
