The Official 2021/22 Premier League Thread

Interesting dilemma for Burnley when they get the news from Goodison.

Do they just try and avoid losing, take a point and hope to match Leeds on the last day, knowing thats enough, or twist and go for a win that puts them ahead of Everton knowing they just have to match Everton on the last day.

Problem for them is they cant afford to be too expansive and risk losing. Right now survival is their own hands

Jackson's a scouser isnt he? Dunno if he's red or blue....but if it were me i'd go for the win knowing what bottle jobs Arsenal are.

The later kick-off tonight could be vital. If they are still level when the Everton result filters through and Everton have lost, I think they may well go for it. Quite surprised all 3 games, or at least the the Burnley and Everton did not kick-off at the same time

I totally agree, but would you apply that to psychopaths and paedophiles? That should stir it up.
Nothing wrong with psychopaths, they're an important part of society. Some would consider them the next stage in human evolution.

We've (forum members in general, not you and I) discussed the paedophile issue before. It's not an easy circle to square. Obviously acting on such desires is out of the question, but we can't punish thought crimes, that's not going to improve society one bit.

Okay so you would prefer an individual was forced into backing a cause against their beliefs without freedom to step away? A bit like in dictatorships. Personally, I much prefer our reality where people have freedom to make their own choices, and there is free reporting of their actions and exposure. The alternative is draconian.
If their beliefs are based in bigotry then they need new ones.

I still know what I want Everton to need on the last day. A point to be sure, and to have to win to be sure

If they need to win, would they be too open and get torn apart by Arsenal.
If they need to draw, could they play well enough to disrupt Arsenal enough for 90mins.

One things for sure, there will be no playing out a 0-0 as somebody in the media suggested might happen if they both needed a point on the last day (Not that for one minute did I believe that would happen)

Isn't that basically the same as someone not agreeing with LGBT+ and not wearing a badge, but not doing anything actively homophobic?

This is too good to be true. Everton in a position where they need a result on Sunday. Palace and Saudi Sportswashing Machine my two new favorite teams. :p
