The New Next New Manager Thread

I can't see that happening. I just can't. The talks will stall, Conte will find greener pastures - as in money - elsewhere, and we will stumble on in our manager pursuit for another month, begore making an underwhelming shoestring appointment.

You sound like a positive spurs fan

I saw a clip from him earlier which said:
- off the pitch (infrastructure etc) we're world class
- on the pitch we're an embarrassment

Hard to argue with that. I know he's regularly negative on Spurs, but what I saw today was pretty accurate

It was the “biggest joke in the PL” line that I took issue with.

What’s the feeling about Conte and bringing through youth players, which was one of Levy’s criteria? Or at least sticking with the likes of Skipp and Tanganga who are coming through but still need patience and development?
You would have thought, that if you'd turned down a job that you would keep an eye on that team out of interest.

There’s another one just up about Nuno with lots of ‘sources close to the changing room’ insight - no guesses for leaked by whom - apparently there was a vote before the Everton game last season on whether to keep Mou and only two voted in favour - I’m guessing that was Kane and Hodge.

Honestly, these players…
I really doubt that the players are deciding whether the manager keeps his job or who the next one will be. If they are, then that is more damning on the Senior Managers of the club. And what chance does Conte have?

Sadly I think all this piling into players is a red herring put forward by many in the fan base who cannot face the reality of how the club is being managed. Players are in control of so little really. If they don't perform they don't play. It's just not in their interests not too unless they want to force a move like say Kane. Footballers who perform well tend to see an increase in their value and their wages.

If I want to see why a company is underperforming I usually start at the top and work my way down.

If it's not announced tomorrow i doubt it will happen. Manchester derby this weekend utd lose that he'll go there.

Apparently they don't want him and if they sack ole they’d prefer someone like rodgers or ten hag. Also ole will get until the end of the season apparently.

All this is probably why conte is coming, along with I’m guessing the promises from levy and that his close friend paratici is at the club.

I hope so. But won't get excited till he signs.

So where are these transfer funds coming from?

Naming rights or has joey keeled over and we have his bank card :D

Doesn't look like we'll be locking down again so levy might be a bit loser with the purse strings. It won't be coming from lewis. Naming rights would be a huge boost though. But we haven't heard anything. Maybe somebody buying into the club who knows?

No, I completely agree. The board is most definitely complicit in all of this, I’ve very much come round to that way of thinking. But I just can’t help shake the feeling that this is a fairly rotten bunch too.

As you imply though, the rot does start at the top.

Could just be that Levy is happier taking a bit more risk - paying down the debt slower. If we sign players who are young enough then Levy would be able to rationalise it given that their values should in theory not drop like say a 28 year old's might

Some players which we've been linked with today - Bastoni, de Ligt, Vlahovic etc - fit that bill. I wouldnt be surprised at all if all our Jan signings are, say, under 24. Might just be the way which Conte can get the players he wants AND it being consistent with our general approach to type of player signed

£10m a year isn't going to stretch very far. Naming rights will only ever be about 1/4 of what we get for shirt sponsorship, so only small fry relatively
